Okay... here's the deal.
Before I start, this is not a bawwww or whine journal. This is all very serious and I am seriously asking for help from the deviantArt (and Fur Affinity) community, because I know you guys will give me love and support.
My dad has had back problems most of his life, but it has gotten especially bad in the past recent months. Recently, about a week ago, it got so bad that he can barely move or walk. And when he does walk, it looks as if his body is twisting. He has seen chiropractors before, but they never really helped him.
He saw a new one yesterday, who ran x-rays and adjusted his back. Adjusting his back actually made it /worse./ He went back today, and the doctor said he has a degenerative disease in his spine. His spine is also not formed at all the way it should be, and his hip and pelvic bones - while crooked - are also 13 millimeters away from his spine. 1 millimeter is considered crucial.
The doctor says all they can do for now to help him is continue back adjustments and physical therapy, but if that doesn't help, he will have to get surgery on his spine, and runs a high risk of becoming paralyzed.
My dad has missed about 2 weeks of work so far from this, because his job requires a lot of moving around, bending down, etc (he's a maintenance worker.) If he doesn't get better soon, it's a high chance he will lose his job, in turn us not having any money.
Money is already tight to begin with. My mom is a freelance author and also works part time at my college as a news writer/editor, but that doesn't pay as much as she needs. And for those of you that don't know, freelance authors don't get payed right away (they also don't get royalties.) Typically, in almost all cases, they need to wait for the actual book they wrote to be published, and /then/ they get payed. This takes usually 6 months to even a year (sometimes sooner if the production company is fast.)
Also, my dad is a musician. His passion for music is as strong as my passion for art - he's played the guitar since the age of 11. I'm not saying this just because he's my dad, but he is insanely talented. It's hard for him to play his guitar with his back this way, and I do not want to have to live seeing my dad trying to play his guitar in a wheelchair. I won't let it happen. I want his therapy to help, and for him to get better, which might mean him not going to work.
I told my mom I could try and help pay bills and such by dropping my commission prices again to sell more, and she said it would be beyond great.
So, what I'll be doing is creating more package deals and new prices, similar to when I did the Cyber Monday deals. I'll also be doing 20 slots at a time.
When I come up with new prices, I will post a new journal and then add the rest of the slots.
Also please keep in mind my semester has just started and I am already getting tons of work. Doing commissions during my semester will be difficult, and if you do commission me during this time, it will take 1-3 weeks to get your commission (just as if you were to order something from out of the country... it takes time to get to you.)
Thank you all for reading, and please stay tuned for updates. :thanks:

When you start the deals I'll make sure to get some!
Good luck to you and your dad!
It is very hard to find a chiro who is good, but once you do you notice the difference. When you get adjusted you will feel a little sore, and it goes away after a few, if it becomes a bother you can tell your, er his chiro and they can try a different way to adjust his back.
NEVER NEVER put heat on your spine, or anything that hurts you. i.e icy hot patches are bad. You need ice, because the spine or whatever other part of the body is hurting, is inflamed, and need to be iced for 10 minutes, no more. Have him take a cool shower, it may be cold but it helps. Or even have him take a nice relaxing bath.
I know from experience cause I have double scoliosis, and see my chiro once a week.
If he continues to see a good chiro then he wont need the surgery. He just need to go as much as the chiro says, until they can get it to where his spine more how it should be and each bone is spaced how it should so his nerves aren't pinched.
In all honesty a person should go to a chiro regular at least once a month.
He knows not to put heat on it. XD He's been icing it constantly.
And the thing about surgery... His spine is slowly becoming so deformed that surgery might be the only option. It's way more serious than meets the eye.
Thank you though. <3
(this is Magoo-Tora, the total troll :B)
I'll be watching on here and dA for when you open them up!
And yeah haha gtfo you troll. XD
I MUST TROLL YOU TILL THE DAY I DIE!
Have you considered acupuncture? Not likely to help much, but it might do something for him.
And... I'm sorry. I wish I could help, but I'm flat broke myself.
But I wish you the best of luck. My thumbs are up and my fingers crossed
Thank you for your support. <3333
Anyways, I'll be here waiting to see when those slots open. :3
