Using Reference - an awesome guide!

I want to share this blog entry with you guys, it's a fantastic guide on how to use reference!

Seriously, this is such a great guide! Another tip after you read this, you can also make use of small rough sculptures you make yourself, called maquettes, to add to your reference. I'm using a maquette myself for a piece right now, it's great for choosing different angles and lighting situations without having to do a bajillion sketches.

It took me years to even use reference at all because I'd be told it was cheating as a tiny artist. (I... picked bad role models, haha.) I'd been breaking away from that ingrained belief, but this is a great guide on smashing the rest of the fears.
See my other reply below for rant. :)
In my opinion, if you're NOT using refs at least some of the time, you're not really going anywhere as an artist.
Using Reference is something to be proud of. It's an extra step that often takes more work, and less "flying by the seat", and the art will show the difference.
