The Journal of a Sage
I've recently started an interesting experiment that doubles as a writing exercise.
Some of you may recall how I let my imagination loose around myself as a way of livening up my surroundings, such as figuring out how my workplace might look and function if it existed back on ancient Raikonia.
I'm doing that again, but this time just letting my mind wander, in the form of a Sage on his own journeys. It began as a stream-of-consciousness attempt to see what might happen if I just let events occur on their own without any sort of plot or guidance, and as I expected, the scenes began to form by themselves. I decided that Khalil would be the perfect vessel to use, as he was based on my fursona anyways, and I began writing down these events in a travel journal, detailing his travels (even the mundane events). My hope is that I might be able to gain a better idea of the setting in preparation for Auran Legend, which I plan to begin later this year as my second major novel project. I'd already planned on writing Khalil's story in his own words, but the events of this journal take place years after that tale (after he had completed his training). If I can write this consistently (be aware this is all written on the fly. I force myself not to think ahead so that it'll be a surprise for myself and Khalil), then I might post some entries here for curious readers.
