Trade Information
I actually do enjoy doing trades, but not out of the blue. Most of the time I am the one who initiates a trade but please feel free to ask! I will also post a journal to announce that I am open for trades.
A lot of what I do is physical: badges, care boxes, chainmail, etc. So unless you also do something physical, I will likely stick to art-only trades. However, I am very willing to do art/stuff trades! It depends on what you want and what you do. :)
Starting a trade:
Anything you see on my commission info, badge commission info, chainmail commission info, and special commission info pages are all up for trade. If you see something you might want to trade for, please let me know. I will then see what you offer and ask you about what I would like.
In general, both sides of the trade should be about equal. If you want a $30 chainmail dice bag from me, I'm going to want $30 worth of stuff from you.
If we are going to do a badge trade, or otherwise trade things that must be mailed, we're fine because we each must pay for shipping. If I am mailing stuff to you, than please account for that in the value of stuff I will be asking for you. Likewise, if you are mailing me something and I am not mailing something to you, I will take that extra cost into account for whatever it is you are going to get from me.
My side of the trade:
Once the trade has started and we have figured out what each of us is doing for the other, I will add you to the Trade section of my art queue, where I will keep updates of the progress of my side of the trade. Depending on what it is I am making/doing for you, I could be done very quickly or it might take awhile (such as I had to order extra rings for your chainmail dice bag) I will notify you in that case. As soon as my half is done, I will again notify you and- if I have to mail it- I will.
Your side of the trade:
Depending on what it is you are doing, I understand that it could take some time to complete. While I am often patient enough to the point where I might otherwise forget we were doing a trade in the first place, I'd rather not be waiting for your half for 2 or 3 or 4 months. When finished, let me know and let me see! :D Then, if need be, mail it to me.
Trade completion:
Once each of us have fulfilled our side of the trade, the trade is complete.
Additional information:
If you ask for a trade and I decline, please don't be offended. It likely isn't that I don't think your work is good enough or that you are not worth my time- chances are, you might have a style I don't particularly care for. And there's nothing wrong with that. After all, you wouldn't start a badge trade with me if you didn't like the way I draw! Don't be afraid to ask- worst case scenario I say no. (And there might be a time when I'm simply too busy!)
On that note, if I currently have commissions while we are doing a trade, I will handle my commissions first.
