Project Messiah

A few days ago, Project Messiah announced they were cutting the costs of their 3D animating software "Messiah Studio 5" for a rare promotional deal. $10 for the basic version (regularly $499) and $40 for the pro version (regularly $1,195). They had only one caveat: they had to reach a specific number of sales for people to get their prices. Yesterday, they got it.
So, for those of you aspiring 3D artists out there looking to get legal, solid and pretty decent professional 3D software can now grab it (legally!) for as little as $10... for the next four hours.

It's a pretty limited sale. Support the devs, get good software. Know people interested in real 3D modeling? Be sure to send 'em to this journal (or to the link above!).
Again, it's a rather time sensitive deal, so... pass it on!

A rare sale on professional grade 3D modeling software?
Shame I don't know jack about 3D modeling.
Still want, but I would never use it. xD
:D
As far I heard, Blender is a bit like VI and VIM. Really really efficient and fast when you know it, but confusing if you used other text editors..
(I still need to learn how to use VI while I'm at it >>)
as an artist and animator, should i get to for the sake of having it? haha
so do you know how they're gonna send the licenses out? I read the whole thing but it didn't say how xD

However, as a loser, I just spent all my money grabbing Marvel vs Capcom 3 today so therefore I'm broke :C
only problem is people will whine about the price after which will be kinda funny but im only complaining about the now as the now sucks LOL
If 10 people buy the $40 pro, that's $400. Think of how many people have bought this product now. They've most likely made a ton of cash.
If I'm reading this right I should get the key and instructions how to download in a couple of days?
If not, we can blame Dragoneer for not being specific. 8D *tomato'd*
then again, 3D isn't my forte, and I don't know how much I'll be using this program...
I only started playing around with Sculptris over the weekend, but can see the appeal... and a professional-level suite for that price - I figured I might as well get it, even if I only dabble in 3D work just a bit more. Awesome.
(Now, if only Adobe would do the same with Photoshop... 8) )
Definitely had to get the Pro version, that is just insane. Its like Steam but with professional programs... though I think this tops any sale I have EVER seen.
The thing I found very interesting is that it's a LOT of open source coding and parts are free, yet some aren't.
I'm wondering if they REALLY will charge that much after sale when they openly admit to a fair amount of it as free coding?
And also the fact most people don't particularly care about open source or even know it exists.
If people want to buy something they can get for free, let them. More free stuff for you. o:
If it's not automatically set up to send to the paypal address whenever then I don't know where the hell it's going.
"It will be 3 days until we start getting our licenses, I assume they will also be sent out in the order in which people purchased.
Once we have our licenses, it is a matter of binding it to your USB thumb drive, and then you can use it whenever you need."
If your good with Blender, you probably have no need to swap.
But 40 bucks is still a good price, so ... Ur argument is (almost) invalid
