The constant forward/reverse swapping got a bit tedious by the end, but other than that, yeah... that's a goddamn amazing trailer. Even makes one excited about a new zombie something-or-other, and considering how bloated and overcrowded that market is, that's really saying something,
I've seen a play done in reverse. I mean it starts at the ending and each scene in a few months back in time. So I wouldn't see why someone couldn't make a film like that.
Not to troll, buuut... It's a decent trailer, and a nice little mindfuck. It doesn't interest me for the game at all though. It's going to be a playable zombie drama a la "We're Alive," and that doesn't seem to interest me too much.
Now if you don't mind me, I'll be over in my little corner, watching the ME3 trailer over and over and over and over...
To be technical this is some basic film theory to juxtapose the music with the images to create a tearjerker feeling but also because the first thing the game is doing is tying the viewer to an innocent group of heroes which is something a lot of people can want to be and a lot of people can relate to innocence. I really liked it and I'm glad that developers are starting to think this way. I think it knocks a heavy level of depth that has already set this game apart from the rest.
I'm... Not sure I understand what should be making the trailer 'awesome.' I didn't think it was unbelievable. I thought it was barely above average, to be honest. Too drawn out, and zombies dying backwards is still zombies dying. Watching the girl and realizing what'd happened to her was a good touch, but besides that it was just typical zombie killing, but in slow motion and sometimes backwards.
Although, I do think a lot of commercials outright suck, so maybe I've just set my bar too high.
The game will have to bring more to the table then zombies for it to get my attention, i will have to see game play footage or try a demo but right now I am not really interested.
Damn; someone obviously had a clue when they scripted that trailer - I don't even like zombie movies/games and I watched it right through to the end with a bit of a sniffle!
I know what you mean, specially that last bit where it's footage the family had shot on their holiday before everything went to hell... Hope the game lives up to the trailer, cos I love anything to do with zombies and have yet to find a zombie game that I like (not a fan of Left 4 Dead)
That three-minute teaser trailer did a better job at getting me to care about the characters than most 40-hour RPGs. The cinematics team deserves a thumbs-up. b(^_-)z
Now if the game itself is half as good as its teaser, I'll definitely look into picking it up.
I kind of was reminded of Heavy Rain in the factor that there was family lost. Heavy Rain too is a great game and I stand by that statement. "How would you feel if you lost someone you love, regardless of situation?" That is what is the hook in people's hearts.
I call foul for use of weepy music and injured child. That's easily 80 percent of the emotional impact. Too easy. Take those two away and try to achieve the same amount of impact.
And would someone please explain the orgy of undead cannibal novels, games, books, mini-series, cartoons, graphic novels, dolls, movies, etc., etc., etc? What does it mean? Aren't we creating hell on earth fast enough for some people?
Nice trailler, I wanna learn more now too bad the official site is completely broken with it redirecting to a site that redirects to it causing an infinite loop error.
According to your Time Stamp, you watched this about the same time I did today, when I found it. Musta been roaming the gaming forums and StumbledUpon it ehh?
That is how a zombie game/movie/serie/etc shall be. Tragedy, sadness, emotional nightmares. Not something filled with humor and stupid puns. I see nothing funny with your loved ones raising from the dead and the only choice you have is to destroy their brains to prevent them from destroying you. Too many games and movies today mix comedy and zombies, something I mean is plain stupid. Zombies = horror. Awlays have been and always will be.
I really can't wait for this game
You mean they're seriously doing this game? Finally?? I've been following this thing for 4 years, I thought it was long dead XD
No pun intended.
It would be interesting to see a whole film told in reverse; I wonder if somebody could pull that off.
But yes this was a very good trailer I hope this game would be good graphics look intense as well Kyu~~
Now if you don't mind me, I'll be over in my little corner, watching the ME3 trailer over and over and over and over...
NEGLECT SOCIAL LIFE
AQUIRE ASARI WAIFU
Music + Reversed video + Zombies + Blood everywhere = Truly. Orgasmic~
Now seriously, I don't care much for the game itself (the whole genre isn't my cup of coffee) but the trailer is a fcking masterpiece!
Although, I do think a lot of commercials outright suck, so maybe I've just set my bar too high.
I grow tired of the zombie genre.
The game will have to bring more to the table then zombies for it to get my attention, i will have to see game play footage or try a demo but right now I am not really interested.
... I want
Now if the game itself is half as good as its teaser, I'll definitely look into picking it up.
And you are right, Dragoneer. That is how you advertise a good lokking game like that. Anyone know what system it's coming out for?
And would someone please explain the orgy of undead cannibal novels, games, books, mini-series, cartoons, graphic novels, dolls, movies, etc., etc., etc? What does it mean? Aren't we creating hell on earth fast enough for some people?
keep waiting for the game of subcubus, where you was a zombie that can control another zombies, same was announce the same year and was stoped too
I want that game even more now. X3
This game looks fantastic.
Off topic though: What's up with the furry survey 2011? Will we see the results? If so, when?
