i think your are good with drawings. i've wanted to commission you for a while now but i havn't had a job in 2 years. i feel like i can't afford to spend money on anything right now. i need a new computer too. mine has also been dying slowly for the last 3 years and i'm not sure why it's still alive now. the screen barely works on it and it still randomly shuts down (i know the problem is the motherboard).

Mine randomly restarted itself. I got told it was either the motherboard or maybe the memory and recently windows started failing.
It's not worth trying to fix it, since everytime I sent it to the service they'd say it works fine :/

I think it's doomed and I rather save for a new one instead of keep having issues with this =_=
Plus it's crappy and I don't even get to play anything on it D:

Since I started sewing stuff I feel my drawing skills went down and down >_<

if your computer (i'm guessing laptop) has an integrated motherboard (everything like the graphics card and stuff is built into it) than it would be easy to just say it's the motherboard going bad. but it should have a better diagnostic that just saying that. that's like saying "minorities are the problem with the u.s." but not stating specifically what type of minority. i at least know for my motherboard (and integrated type) it's mostly the graphics card causing my computer to sometimes fail and do emergency shut down. but there are also other problems in it too. you're probably right in thinking it's not worth fixing since if it's a mother board that needs to be replaced than you are pretty much paying for a new computer (they are around $600 from HP). and there's not much good in paying that kind of money for something that will most likely work just as good as it did before the break (which probably isn't very good since it did break).

I has a desktop, never been a fan of laptops since they're reeaaaallly expensive here. When I took my cpu to service they told me the hard drive was broken and had a new one put on but that didn't fix the restarting problem. Since it restarted itself mostly when I was playing videos we thought it was the video card wich was a lame one that came with the motherboard so I switched with one a friend lended me, that I know it works perfectly fine cause my bf used it before me. But that didn't fix the issue either..
So im pretty sure it's the memory, cause heating issues I don't think so (it's been right in front of a fresh air entrance for the last couple of years).
So dunno, I'll try formatting this weekend to see if I can make it work for some time while I save for a new one.
I'm getting my bf's laptop in case we can't make it work or don't finish during the weekend so atleast I'll be able to be online >_< (using my mom's desktop sucks, since it's not avaible all the time..)
I need to get around u$400-500 to get a new comp, if I wanna get something better than what I already have.
So far I have saved up u$100, and hopefully I'll get the rest with commissions, hopefully T_T.

interesting how no one ever knows exactly what's wrong when a computer malfunctions. XP
well you defiantly don't have an integrated motherboard if you have a tower pc. hearing about how it powers down from playing video's (i'm guessing youtube kind) the only thing in memory that would effect that is if you overloaded your RAM. but i'm not sure that would cause a shut down. part of that might be mixed up signals from the graphics card and something else like motherboard, processor, or RAM card if it's not being done by the HDD (harddrive). i'm in no way a computer export so don't quote me on this. i just have scattered knowledge on the subject from being exposed to it by my friend who is an expert. you probably are safest with a new comp. how old is your's anyway?
