Curveball.
Life has thrown us yet another curveball.
On the way into work this morning,
akelavincent was in a car accident. Not so serious that he landed in the hospital, but serious enough that we pretty much no longer have a car. He was turning left across oncoming traffic, which was stopped, and was t-boned by some idiot who was illegally driving up the right hand turn lane to avoid the stopped traffic.
The Saturn is at a mechanics after being towed, as its no longer drivable. The repair/damage estimate has not come in yet, but from the accident photos, the right hand passenger side door is permanently closed, the frame is damaged (you have a hard time even getting the glove box open) and it looks like either the axle or the suspension is bent/damaged, as the right front wheel bends at an angle no working wheel should ever be at.
What is all boils down to, is that the only car we had between us is now pretty much totaled. It's going to cost more than the car's worth to fix it, and that's that. We only had the Saturn, and it only carried liability insurance. That means we get nothing back from the insurance company towards damages, etc. It's the risk we took, and now it's biting back. We're going to have to buy a new car, which we don't have cash for a down payment. I hate to say it, but we need help.
I'm going to be putting many things up for sale. Things that can be liquidated easily. I'm selling at least 2 fursuits, I'll be going through many of my collections to see what can be thinned out, and funds that were otherwise being saved for future needs are now being re-routed. That said, we're still going to be very short of the amount we need.
As much as I hate to ask, if ya'll have anything to spare, we would sure appreciate it. We have to have a working vehicle to get Zeb to work, and I'm going to have to pick up a job now as well, which we'll need a car in order to do so. Our budget is tight enough as it is, and while we can stretch it enough to probably get in a car payment, it's not going to stretch enough for the necessary down payment. That's where we need help. Any little bit helps, and many thanks to you if you can spare a little. Donations are open through Paypal, link is below.
Of course, thoughts and prayers are good too.

PS: We are still going to Furry Fiesta, because since I'm working a table at the con, I'll be making money to put towards a new car. We won't be doing much else other than working, though.

FA+

If you're making a legal manuever and their making an illegal manuever it should negate the automatic fault of the left lane turn.
I'm glad Zeb's okay cause that's what's most important. As for funds, I'll see if I can scrape up something and give it to you at the next meet.
I've sent as much as I can your way to try and help out with damages. Good luck on everything
And see you at FF?
Keep the Paypal link open, can't do anything now, doesn't mean that is true in the near future. :(
I will see what I can do once I get my tax return.
*hugs tightly*
BTW, your badge is done and it turned out so cute!
