Does anyone know where the Oil pressure sending unit is located on a 1994 chevy lumina z-34? I have the part but the shop wants $192 to install it :/

I.... have no knowledge about cars unfortunately, -but- I do have a friend who actually works in an auto shop! I'll make a journal to grab his attention, and drop him an IM as soon as I see him on, see if knows anything D:

Since I never had to repair one I wouldn't know off-hand. If you wanna do stuff like this yourself I'd suggest getting a repair manual. Chilton and Haynes make the most decent and they only run you at least $20 (pending taxes and store pricing).

I bought that manual, unfortunately it has nothing on the sending unit or where it's located.

Well that's dumb, *googles* Might wanna check by the oil filter, 5 second search to eHow says it'll be located near there.

I don't know if it's the same as the thing that was on my car that needed replacing. but sounds the same. if it is, it should be a little sensor on a wire, hooked to your engine (where it monitors the oil n stuff.) It was sitting right infront of my engine. Yours may be somewhere different, but it should be similar.

I don't know off the top of my head Gabby. I'd check the web. I am sure it is there somewhere. =x

It's gonna be near the oil filter. Normally a little round thing with a connector on it and something plugged into it.

Forgot to mention, you should probably do this ASAP as to prevent any damage from being done to your vehicle. If you can't do it yourself, unfortunately the best option is to have a technician perform it. Call around, go to the best price. And don't be afraid to ask if thats the best price they can do. Smaller shops that are privately can be willing to drop the price if they want your business bad enough lol
