I think this shows (just a little) the balance in the world. Out of all the misfortune he had gone through, Patrick got incredibly lucky and will now be properly cared for. Now for his previous owner, lets just say that I have faith in the very same natural balance of things. The awful treatment that s/he put Patrick through will be turned against them soon enough.

I hope Patrick has a wonderful life from here on in. :3

Glad the lil guy is ok. What drives some people to be so cruel is beyond me, but the good news is for every one of those, there are thousands who stand on the other side and abhor this kind of thing.

I am so happy the dog is doing better, but what about the real animal abuse? What of the animals that are force to perform in circles or the ones make to live in zoos? Yes, I know some of them are far better off in the zoos, but I bet they would be willing to take their chances in the wild. Or the animals force to work in movies and TV ads? And the dozen of others we all know about, but few do anything about.

Meanie, you raise a lot of good questions, of which I DO have some answers, but they are lengthy, especially when it comes to animals in the Zoos. Some animals in the Zoo have been saved from extinction due to strong, breeding programs, so don't discount the zoos for their great work. Also, the Humane Society has very stringent codes for animal who work in TV and Movies.

Yes, I know all of that and it is good work for sure. But so long as animals are being kept from being themselves it will always be a form of abuse they will need to be save from. And as we both know codes like laws are being broken all the time for one reason or another my good moose. So no matter now enlighten we become in taking care of them, we must in the long run set them free, stop using up land where they must live, set aside more places for them to run free and we humans learn to cut back on our own growth and give them the chance to be free to be themselves without fear of us humans hunting them down for sport and gain. Then and only then will the abuse of animals come to an end. Then we would have no need for zoos anymore.

Meanbeard, you know that you're livin in a dreamworld, right? Humans will always come first, and animals will always suffer on account of it. Mista D is right. If there are people who can help the animals along, we can save most of them. It would be wunderful to let them roam free but people are selfish muthas.

Many things in our lives started off as dreams and have come about. I won't giving up on this one and I am sure others won't as well. In time I am sure it will happen. More and more are starting to care more and like so many other things that were just dreams to many at one point in time have happen and we all are all the better for them happening as well. Never give up on a dream for it can happen as history shows us.

So far seems so good, dear Dineegla - I suspect hes going to be just fine. If theres one thing I kinda understand, its the capacity for non human animals to overcome and prosper. I got a three legged shep mix that has done nothing but surprise me from the day I got him.
