Homeward Bound, The Journeys End.

Well a few weeks ago my mate decided to buy a camper on E-bay, the only problem was that the camper in question happened to be in Columbus GA...... and I happen to live in Maine.
Well a quick call to Panzier and the method of transportation was decided on, and the planning phase of the adventure started. I met up with him at his home after work on April 15th and we headed south, the only problem was that some sever weather decided it needed to occupy the same point in the time space continuum as us.
Arriving in Columbus GA on the afternoon of the 16th, we found out just how bad the weather had really been. It seems that several tornados had touched down along our travel route over the night.
Well not wasting much time we hooked up the white whale to the camper and headed north.

The ride home was a long one, so it was decided to leave the camper at Panzier's house and I would go down the next weekend to pick it up.
Well I arrived at Panzier's place and found him hard at work tinkering on the trailer, taking care of a few little details that he found including a leaking tire. So with the help of Mike2501 we found all the appropriate wires and got the electronic break controller and socket installed.

Oh and the best part about this camper......... It's not a just a camper.... It's a toy hauler......
So for those of you who haven't seen one, a toy hauler is little more then a camper where everything folds up and out of the way so you can put your motorcycles, quads, dirt bikes ect inside of it.

So after few hours at Panzier's place I head back to the cold darkness that is Maine with the mates new toy in tow.

And of course I also need to top of the gas tank so I can start to work out what the trucks mileage is while towing the camper.

Well about another hour down the road and I'm crossing the BGB (big green bridge) back into Maine.

All was going quite nicely............... Until I got home...... Isn't that the way it always works? I went to park the camper behind my garage... and well that piece of lawn looked solid..... It wasn't squishy when I got out and walked on it..*sighs* .. But it seems that the ground was a little bit softer then I figured. Fortunately that happened after dark, so there are no pictures of me getting muddy but someone decided to go out and take some pics after the sun came up.

And here is a picture of the brave recovery vehicle that went in after the Chevy.

It is kinda embarrassing when a quarter ton jeep has to winch out the one ton pick-up.
Oh well that's what has been going on in my life over the last couple of weeks.

The trip down was a blast, literally, blown this way and that through the mayhem! Quite awesome, such a fun trip and well, a good chance for welding when making up that new tray.
Hey not a problem I enjoyed sharing the trip info.... With any luck I will be post about an epic trip to PEI in 2012.
