In the United States Monday is Memorial Day. it is used for sales, for a day off from work for fun and games to start summer. but that is not its intended purpose.
First observed in New York after the Civil War, it was intended to remember all those who died on both sides. after World War 1, it was expanded to include ALL American military personnel who died. After Vietnam, with its copious amounts of uncelebrated and uncared for veterans it was expanded again to include all military personnel who died OUTside of a combat zone.
This Weekend, please remember all of the men and women who died to keep this country's freedom, and helped try to stabilize this world.

Having seen the Vietnam "Traveling" Memorial Wall, a few years back (yes... nearly all were listed) and breaking into tears...
NEVER FORGET!
I also have vet's in my family line, going all the way back to the War for Independence (one was a Minuteman).
