*sigh* Okay, I'm trying to calm down here, so bear with me. Many of you know that I've been stressed for the past few weeks. That's because my doctor's office suddenly told me that I owe an outstanding balance from 08-09 when I had no job and no money. Now, I had talked to the doctor and she assured me that there was no problem and that I could just pay whenever until my Social Security got approved. I mean, they let me continue having appointments and refilling prescriptions, so I figured she was telling the truth. Turns out that behind the scenes, her billing department up and sent my account over to collections. Now, during this time I got many many calls about people I owed money too, and a lot of them were just plain rude, so I tended to not answer or just hang up on them. When I told them that I had no money and no way to get the amount of money they wanted, they would get upset and start yelling. Can't get blood from a stone right?

Anyway, I try calling this collection company and talk to someone, only to have them say that I owe a little over $500 and that it all has to be paid off at once. They totally refuse to setup a payment plan or anything. It seems now that I have money, they don't want to work with me. Doesn't make a whole lot of sense does it? There's no way I can do that with the small amount I get from SSI every month. That's like over half of what I get and I need almost all of it for rent and bills as it is. Totally unreasonable. So, frustrated, I called the doctor's office and explained the situation. The only thing I can do now is pay half this month, and half next month. Otherwise they won't let me see the doctor anymore and won't refill any of the prescription meds I need. You know, the ones I need to LIVE! Yeah, I realize the account is way late, but is it worth cancelling someone's life? That's basically what it comes down to. They're willing to work with me as far as getting a few prescriptions I need if and when I pay half. I won't have an actual appointment with my doctor until August, so I have two months to pay the whole thing off. The trouble is, I don't have the money to do that by myself.

So what I'm asking is this; if anyone out there can just somehow loan me the money I need, I WILL pay you back. Remember, its a total of $525, but only half is needed right away. The other half is needed by next month. I may not be able to pay you back all at once like some shady collection company wants, but I can pay you month to month.

Thanks to everyone's help, donations, and spreading the word, we have reached our goal within a matter of hours! I'm so happy to know we have such caring friends in the world. You guys are the best! Its really amazing what the power of friendship can do. So, please know that the bill has been covered, and now I just need to wait until it clears my account before I can pay it off. If you donated and you need to be repaid and haven't told me so already, please let me know. I'll get with you on a payback schedule of some sort when all this is over.



With your help, I can get this paid down and not lose my life over it. I know the economy sucks right now and jobs and money are rare, but this is the only way I can see of being able to pay this off. I really hate to ask or beg, and I'm sorry, but I have no choice. I just wanted all this crap dealt with and behind me once I got Social Security, and it just keeps piling up. So, if you can help at all, please let me know ASAP. If you can't afford to donate or anything, please at least try to spread the word through your journals to help us out here.

Update: Wow, in just a few hours so many friends have helped and we pretty much have what we need now. It just has to clear and then I can know for sure. ^^ Just wow...thank you everyone!
