How long does it take you to do one piece?

Between an hour and a half to two hours. And, just by going by minimum wage for "unskilled labor", that's $12-$15 for the labor alone. And I hardly think of myself as unskilled.

People get away with selling badges for $40 all the time (and sell a lot of them), so my prices aren't bad at all.

I spent like 5 hrs on the sketch, ink, color and shading on that new piece. Jeez, maybe I should raise my prices than... and get a better customer base.

Don't mean to be an ass, but if you don't like the prices, then you shouldn't say that on their journal or whatever. Some artists are fine with lowering the price down a bit, especially for closer friends (I do this a lot), but they are allowed to set the price to the effort and time they feel they put into it.
