NEED HELP! I DON'T WANT MY KITTY TO BE TAKEN AWAY!!!

I don't mean to keep crying to everyone on here, but this is more of an emergency than trying to get a DS and games again.
The land lady here where my dad and I just moved is getting antsy with me paying off the pet deposit. Its WAY too high in my opinion, more than I get per paycheck and I have other bills to pay. He had worked out a payment plan so that I have to pay about $40 every month, but like I said she's getting antsy about it. My dad was even saying that she might buckle down and tell me to get rid of it if I cant pay it in full soon. And I haven't even lived here for a whole month yet.
The pet deposit is $250. No I'm not exaggerating. And it wasn't advertised when we found the place and I was told about it AFTER we moved in. I'll be willing to do special deals on commissions if anyone can afford to help out in any way shape or form.
My dad won't help he's already made that clear. And I don't want to lose my cat. She is really the only thing that keeps me going sometimes because I just feel so alone and depressed here.
So please please PLEASE! If you could afford anything at all, please help me so that I don't have to have my cat thrown out. I can provide pictures if you need proof. Right now all I can find are her little kitten pictures. She's just a little over 2 years old now, so she's a lot bigger.

Instead if the original sale that I was going to do, I'm going to try and do a PAY WHAT YOU CAN commission thing. I'll post another journal about it tomorrow morning.

If it WASN'T in writing before moving in, then I certainly would be curious about the legality of it as well.
Pet deposits are certainly something you should always ask about when leasing/renting a home or apartment, to avoid situations like this. :<
Hopefully the kitty can stay!
In the case that it is in there... let me see what I can do.
When we were signing the paperwork and such I asked if it would be alright to do payments since I'm a "broke college student" and my dad sure as hell wasn't going to help me. But now she's getting antsy because I guess she could be fee-ed if I don't pay her? That's what it sounded like because my dad was on the phone with her before I posted this journal.
I would hate very much to see a cat taken away from anyone. But this just reeks of your landlord draining you for money for the sake of doing it.
Also: $250 isn't the worst pet deposit ever. Pets can really mess a place up. I know when my ex had his ferrets, they probably had to redo the underlayment of the floor, which is very time consuming, messy and expensive. They weren't happy. :)
I guess I could understand ferrets, they're kinda smelly (no offense intended, just that has been my experience with friends and pet stores). But I mean, cats are generally clean animals. :/
She is overreacting. I have no idea why she's getting this way except possibly greed. But businesspeople tend to get that way sometimes. I suggest you keep doing what you're doing. I have posted in my journal about your plight. But I too am a broke college student and must get back to my job. Good luck.
