The Deal (Chubpan and other things)
TLDR(2016); Seriously, stop asking me about Pan. This IS the most recent information, that's why it's linked on my front page. When there is a change I will announce it.
Good day Gents and Ladies (I assume there are at least a few of you out there)
I thought I'd take a moment to update with what's going on and why there's been so little noise from me as of late.
FIRST OF ALL - a big thanks to all you guys who have gone out of your way to tip me, your generosity is appreciated, and I've done my best to write a short thank you to everybody who has! I hope I didn't miss anybody, you guys move me!
Secondly - I am not gone. Just because I'm quiet for a while doesn't mean I've gone anywhere. I'm always perplexed when I see "Wow you're back!" messages from people when I have never gone anywhere. I appreciate your concern, but I'm not likely to go anywhere anytime soon.
The animation and web production market in my area is, and has been, in a rather persistent slump. Clients expect more and pay less, and my studio's president is all too happy to pass that trend along to me and my coworkers. Some of you may already know that I work an additional job on top of that at the local art college. Doesn't leave a whole lot of time or motivation for personal projects at the end of the day.
Where does this leave ongoing projects like Grant and Pan?
Grant is a very personal project for me, and a form of expression. I work on Grant when I feel that Grant needs to come out and play. Right now, Grant helps me get through the long days, so when I get home he's just about as tired as I am.
I have made progress on Pan, but everything has been back-end (hurr hurr) progress, working out bugs in movement and collision, streamlining the navigation coding, improving save file sizes, implementation of the experience and trait-repair system (yes, you'll be able to fix those broken gems from the beginning) and doing a few new animations. In fact, I think I'll post two of the Pan animations after this journal goes up just to prove I've done it.
Essentially, both projects fall into "When I'm inspired to work on it" territory right now. This, for me, is a problem, because I want to be inspired to work on these.
Did you know that my primary employment skill is problem-solving?
So here's the deal. In order for me to have more time to work on projects and to feel more inspired, I need to reduce the amount of time I work. In order for me to do THAT, I need to find ways to generate passive income, in other words, money that makes itself. This means other projects. It means sell-out projects that will be pimped on flash game portals, possibly something else. Still investigating those options. It'll take time. It'll take multiple attempts. I am, however, confident in my ability to create something unique and appealing, and sooner or later I'll be able to lose the second job. Maybe even the first job. Maybe I'll even be able to start employing other people (and I have my eyes on some of you). And then is when the magic starts.
I have seen some buzz about Pan online in other places, which is awesome by the way. I have also seen people who insist that I will renege on my pledge to make Pan free. I will do no such thing. When Pan is finished I want it to spread like some kind of unstoppable plague, and I won't be satisfied until it's made its way to the desks of porn executives around the world! Pan is not my first priority right now, but it's NOT gone, it's NOT forgotten, and it's NOT going to cost any of you anything.
I still might sell some fun extras though. Anybody want a custom-made Pan spunk towel?
Anyway, that's it for the time being. Stay tuned for some Pan animations.

Also, I'm one of the ladies, so good call there.
P.S. I could definitely go for a custom-made Pan spunk towel right about now! Here's hoping that you'll catch your lucky break one day!
A T-shirt would probably be a good start.
Hell for some people the two are one and the same ;9

*Cough~* sorry, had to say that xD Wish you all the best in your career life, man. I can't help but wonder who you have in mind to recruit. Whoever they are, they must be damn good and are really honored to be on the list. Salutations.
I think I'll send some tip your way eventually. You're deserving of at least that for pushing on.
Lol. Except that I have nothing to offer skill wise other than a sunny disposition and an easy to get along with nature. Haha.
And maybe something else. Some latent skill I'm not thinking of at the moment. I don't know. But either way. I'm over thinking this. It was meant as a joke. Hehe. Probably not the most humorous one. But whatever.
Keep up the great work, I'm sure whatever you think up to do it will be awesomely amazing and work wonders. You can move mountains! Giant pornographic mountains. Change the world you will! This I see.
Thanks for the update.
I've loved your work since I first joined FA. Even with my gallery of piecemeal WIPs and things, I have a drive and determination to make things for this fandom that simply cannot be quelled. Couple that with my inability to find and maintain a normal job, I rely on this fandom for my our living, especially right now.
I would like to speak more at length with you about this matter when the time comes. I do hope I have something I can offer you.
And you should totally merchandise the crap out of the cast of Chub Pan.
BTW you did a pretty outstanding job with the anim that you just posted, :-D
Panimations.
It is good.
Silliness aside, I appreciate you taking the time to update us!
just know that pan being an international sensation is not a possibility, but an inevitability.
it will change everything. you'll see very soon, congrats in advance dude, always was a fan, from the very beginning.

I just wish there was some way I could be of some hands on help. I'm only starting flash now, so I guess thats a no.
Good luck with the job and projects CaptainGerBear!!
Well, I guess I'm more looking your art at interacting with you.
If I'm not mistaken, the game is being built in AS2, correct?
I'm a developer and have a good knowledge in flash.
I cannot help with money, but I can help (and I want to help:)) with my work.
If you are interested in my help or learn more about my work sends me a note I'll send the links of my online projects.
After all, good luck and hope you can get an RC soon!
Hope the project is going well~
I hope you complete the game as soon as possible
I was a fan of yours all the way back to fur.artwork.erotica -- freakin' USENET. And Fur-fucking-Nation. My brother got married and had a kid. Aup! There I go with the chumminess again. Some people never change.
As you mentioned in this journal, there's been those on other boards that think you'll change your mind and charge for Chub-Pan. Though the way I see it, if you were changing your mind and charging for it, chances are Chub-Pan would be much farther in development then it already is. Considering there's been no update, you're still waiting for things to fall into place so your job situation improves, giving you the free time you need to work on Pan and give us something great and release it for free as planned. You're sticking to your word and I certainly respect that.
I know it's going to be a while, but there's something good to be said about someone sticking to their word in order to give a free game to everyone. :)
, Because A PROJECT AND I HAVE PLAYED THE GREAT DEMO LEAST, I DO NOT KNOW HOW MANY TIMES I HAVE LOST THE ACCOUNT. but do not think you make it a game so you would have to pay the funds to complete it as best as you want, because everyone would buy it immediately. (IO FIRST.) there some news, because now they are 4 years old. that there is nothing. ps could you explain how to overcome the mini game I do not understand where wrong with the shot,
love your works
I was wondering if besides CP, are there any other game project ideas you may have for the future? (or perhaps even a SNE related game? haha one can dream..)
