There are those who hold a certain view of Princess Celestia, one of the main characters in the TV series My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic, that she is some kind of "troll," constantly pranking the denizens of Equestria (often in the guise of multiple personalities like "Trollestia" and "Molestia").
But I've concluded that Celestia is no troll. Based on her actions as depicted in the TV series she comes off, to me, as more like a kind, trickster goddess, who uses a sly wit and sense of humor to teach important messages to her students and subjects. One such "lesson" in friendship forms the basis of the MLP TV series, which I think is an incredibly clever plot device and was perhaps Lauren Faust's greatest contribution to the show.
And some hold the opinion that Celestia's immortality has led to alleged psychological disorders like multiple personalities (mentioned above), revenge psychoses and other acts of cruelty. My own opinion is that while she is immortal, she is also an enlightened being and thus beyond such physical and mental disabilities. And, as an enlightened being, she is helping the other ponies reach higher levels of understanding, in slow and gentle stages. The best example of that is her relationship with her star pupil, Twilight Sparkle.
Then again, I may just be over-thinking this little girls' show a bit too much. :)

I dunno if I'll be in roocam tonight, probably not. My plans/activities have been up in the air these last weeks, didn't even get to Bab's thing yesterday v_v... EITHER WAY, I wish y'all the best of luck!
If I met Celestia on the road, I'd honestly give her a big hug. I love her character so much.
And sometimes her subjects manage to surprise HER. The utterly nonplussed 'WTF?' look on her face, as the Pinkie Pied Piper Parasprite Parade marched by, was completely priceless.
The Tea Spill is Mr. and Mrs. Cake's fault. Have you ever been to a restaurant where they watched you drink a beverage and then immediately fill it up afterwards? Especially 2, 3 and 4 times? Celestia didn't want to be rude by not drinking the tea served to her, but even she realized Mr and Mrs. Cake were going a little overboard about Celestia's presence. She pretended to take a drink, and despite the Cake couple watching her like a hawk, they jumped the gun and attempted to fill a full cup.
As for the Gala, you can't honestly believe that Celestia invited Twilight's friends to DESTROY the party, can you? She knew they would liven up the Gala, since Twilight's friends aren't uppity, high class snobs, but the destruction and fiasco was simply a unique surprise. You have to admit, it would be more comfortable for yourself if you went to a gathering with some friends that helped liven up a dull situation. It's a cartoon, so a little destruction is practically immanent.
And there's no way you can gather from the ending to the Parasprite episode that Celestia knew what the Parasprites were. She never said she knew what was going on in Fillydelphia, only that an infestation had broken out and that she had to tend to it. It's only ironic that the same thing had happened in Ponyville and Celestia was unaware of it due to that emergency elsewhere.
I mean, "Molestia" is basically a rape joke.
I certainly get what you mean though. Scootabuse gives me the heebie jeebies. (Dis I spell that right?)
After all, Luna is now a thousand years younger and Celestia's had to do it all for all that time....
