Am I, "That guy"?

In life, The People are represented by two separate yet equally important groups:
The Fates, who investigate all the possible alternatives to 'Joy';
and the forces of Chaos, who defile the fabric of The Tapestry Of Life.
These are my stories.....

I've been thinking... REALLY thinking hard, recently.... and I'm really wondering if I qualify as, "That Guy".
For those of you who don't quite get it, "That Guy" is the nearly-creepy, nearly-stalker, nearly-dangerous, nearly-virginal fanboy who's social skills are nearly non-existent. The BANE of all well-known folks in a convention.
I've just gotta wonder, if I fall in that category.
I will admit, I do speak to various artists I've met as if we were.... not exactly friends, but not exactly acquaintances. Somewhere in-between. For instance, I might ask about travel, health, jobs.... usually if I know there had been a problem or happy point in those areas that I had heard about. I will talk on an even level - not talking down to someone and not pandering to them either.
And looking back on it, I can see where these actions can seem.... well, creepy! The fact that I'm serious and really AM interested in someone's well being (meaning jobs are ok, travel is safe, health is good) isn't really that important. After all, how are THEY supposed to know I'm honest in hoping they're OK. Especially with who-only-knows-how-many OTHER people milling around and asking questions.
If I've given you reason to think of me as, "That Guy", ever.... PLEASE know that I have never meant to be that way. i would appreciate it if you'd tell me; just say, "Hey.. .Shu? Don't be 'That Guy'."
I don;t mean to be 'him'.... I just, truly, care. (*Shrug*)

now me they go oh god here comes that dragon quick look busy
1. nearly-creepy - You are no where near creepy
2. nearly-stalker - Again, you are far from being a stalker
3. nearly-dangerous - You are too mice of a guy to think about hurting anyone
4. nearly-virginal - Last I knew you had a kid, 'nuff said. hehe
5. fanboy who's social skills are nearly non-existent - You do multiple radio pod casts and at AC were very social. This one does not apply
Now that we have reviewed the key elements my conclusion is...."Not That Guy"
You are just a caring individual and there is nothing wrong with that.
It's perfectly natural being nice and treating even the most famous of people like an casual person. Hell, I try to do that with both artist and Voice actors alike, as I know they hate their foot to be kissed like that or they dislike the 'fan and movie star' relationship. I just like to treat people as normal people lol
btw, how is things going in your section atm? I was actually worried about you yesterday. o.o
But no, Shujin, you are not 'that guy'. If anyone ever suggests such a thing, they fall into two catagories;
A) Those who have had a bad experience or two that has slurred their perceptions of decent people.
or...
B) Douche bags.
"The Guy"
but if you come stalkering around my place you'll get to meet a couple of my very close and personal little friends...
the kind of friends the FA admin have forced me to take down from my gallery
the kind of friends that practice the three major martial arts
Click-click-Bang
Ching-ching-pow
and the Scottish Martial arts of Fuk-yu (that's a lot of head-butting and kicking you while your down )
dude, I'm just kidding. if you showed up I'm sure I'd feed ya for the trouble at the very least
When I see postings about cons, I never see comments "well you think that's bad, you should see ____".
In fact, I don't think good or bad, other than from Zig/Lauren who likes you alot, I don't think I've even heard your name mentioned before!
I think you're off the hook! Besides, I also worry I'm That Guy all the time and my friends swear that my name never comes up!
