First of all I want to ask you to PLEASE read this whole journal. It may look long, but it's important.

The donkey situation from the Texas drought is DIRE! They need our help or hundreds of these awesome, unappreciated animals will die. Mr. Meyers, the founder of Peaceful Valley Donkey Rescue said it way better than I could: (full message here - http://burroman.tumblr.com/)

“Liking” something on Facebook or forwarding an email will no longer cut it. If you like donkeys and you want to see the suffering ended, then get on board. Rescue work is just that…work. It takes effort, commitment and sacrifice.

The first thing you need to do is determine your financial ability to contribute. Rescue takes money. I would not ask anyone to do something that I don’t do. I am usually the first donor to every campaign and project that PVDR does. This is what they mean by “Put your money where your mouth is.”

What this means is that donations are visible and accountable; it means you can donate to this campaign and 100% of the funds will go to PVDR, no paypal fees and no worries that I might be mishandling the money. I've put my money where my mouth is and started off the campaign with $100 out of my savings in addition to providing prizes for donors.

Don't have any money? Spread the word. If you're an artist, donate a commission or something that you made, or if you have something the furry community might like as a prize you can offer that (I will explain how this works under "Drawing Prizes" below). $1000 is the goal, but frankly I would like to exceed that. I know donkey furs may not be the most numerous, but I know of quite a few! Help out the animal you've chosen to represent yourself. If you're not a donkey or even a hoofer, how could you resist a face like this?


So how this works and what you get (Keep in mind you are free to donate anonymously or specify that you do not want a prize):

*ALL donors ($, prizes, or art) will have a place in a HUGE thank you group picture with some painted PVDR donkeys, my character Bill, and my fursona If you're an artist you can draw your own/friend's character if you want but otherwise I'll be doing it. This will be posted on the "Hoofurs" Team page on PVDR's website and sent to PVDR's staff so that they can see the donors.

* When you donate to the campaign (again, click "Support Me": http://donkeyrescue.donordrive.com/.....cipant/hoofurs) you have the option of showing your email address and/or adding a message to the participant. If you don't want your email to show up on the donation page, choose anonymous and please include your FA name in the message and make sure you choose the bubble "participant" or it will be visible to everyone.

*Also include in your message a link to a reference for your free doodle/sketch/chibi. If you don't have a ref you may write a description but if it's complicated don't expect too much.

HOW TO DONATE (New option for artists! ):
Artists, you have two options; #1: you may donate a commission or piece of art/sculpture/fursuit/jewelry/etc. EITHER for a tier prize by e-mailing me (sierratac@yahoo.com) your FA name, a description of what you're donating, and estimated value of the donation. You may specify "Only for Tier __" when you commit your donation, however as the facilitator of the campaign I may decide to put it in a different tier. When the campaign is over I will give the drawing winner(s) your contact information and send you a reminder of what you donated and who won, so you can exchange details and get a shipping address, if applicable.

#2 You may arrange a commission or whatever on your own and rather than having the commissioner pay you, they would donate to the campaign. They will get a pdf receipt for doing so which they can show you or you can just check the donor list to see that they've paid before doing the art. You will both receive the free sketch or chibi and entries into the Tier Drawing of the commission amount.

Item donations are also accepted (idea: got an extra game copy on your steam that you could gift to someone? Donate it!) You will also get a free sketch or chibi for that.

About shipping: If your donation costs $5 or less to ship, please know you are also donating the shipping cost. If it is a large item please include in the e-mail if you can't afford the shipping and that the winner will have to pay for the shipping if they want the item.

An awesome donation would be a snazzy banner ad and/or ad space to advertise the campaign on FA!

The MINIMUM is the # of donors required for the tier for the drawing to take place. You will still get the doodle/sketch/chibi even if the min is not met. If there are more donors or donated prizes for each tier than the goal/expectation then the number of drawings will increase. That means instead of a 1/25 chance of winning the Tier 1 prize, the tier 1 prizes may be divided up into 2+ separate drawings. Upper tier winners may elect to "trade" ONE (1) prize from their tier for one from a lower tier but it must be decided within three days of being drawn the winner and the decision is final. Any prize in the tier may be declined. These prizes will go in the "Tier 0" drawing pile.
