Early September Update

This journal was originally going to be posted on the 1st, but between one thing and another, I didn't get around to writing it until tonight. It's just an update on the state of things with me.
Art
Getting back into the swing of things artwise has proven to be more difficult than I had expected, but I'm getting there, and have even posted a few new things tonight. There'll be more to come soon.
Taking stock of things, I have realised that I've got a bit of a backlog of pics at the inking and colouring stage (both commissions and some stuff of mine), which was a bit of a surprise. Going to have to balance my art time a bit better to try and clear it.
Commissions
I am still open to commissions, if anyone should be interested, as I'm always going to need the money. In particular, I do have plenty of Iron Artist slots left. A single character sketch, just $5! I hope you'll consider it...
And to all my commissioners, once again, I find myself having to say sorry for the delays caused my my RL issues and thanking you all for your patience.
Birthday
September to me always means my birthday. It's still several weeks off, the 27th for those of you who are interested, and I'm not looking forward to it. I have a feeling that the day is just going to depress me, but we'll see.
Champions Online
A new passtime I've picked up in recent weeks is the superhero MMORPG Champions Online. I originally just meant to give it a try, as it was free to play, but I seem to have developed a minor addiction to it :)
I currently have two characters on there, furry of course. I did consider uploading screenshots of them, but I checked FA's upload policy and apparently screenshots aren't allowed. Maybe I'll try and drawn some pics of them sometime :)
So I was curious. Does anyone else around here play Champions Online?

Commissions - I wouldn't go taking on more if you got a back log already, you'll just have a bigger queue of people waiting

Birthday - I'm 40 in October
Games - I kinda ditched SL for Earth Eternal www.eartheternal.com a ALL FURRY MMO [Free to Play] I played it a year or so back, but it went bust + Japanese buyers brought it up or something, now theres a English version again, but its in Beta at the moment [With only half the original races currently playable which really pisses me off as Bear + Badger are 2 of those, so I'm having to play as a Wolf atm] Bear pics [Scroll down ] = http://ee.k5p.com/viewtopic.php?f=5.....amp;amp;t=1289
The problems I've been having have nothing to do with me being 'fired up' over my art. I was ill for a couple of weeks, during which time, I didn't draw anything. Then, for whatever reason, I've been finding it difficult to get back into the habit of it again. Still not quite there yet, but I am getting better.
The backlog I was talking about is of pics at the inking and colouring stage (and perhaps 'backlog' was the wrong word to use). Basically, I've been doing a lot of drawing, but not so much on the colouring side, and I just need to strike a better balance better the two stages of my art. And some of those pics are not commissions, but stuff of my own. Trust me, if I didn't thnk I could handle it, I wouldn't be taking on more commissions. Not that there's been much new interest anyway...
As to your commission, I am sorry you've been waiting so long. But, even after all the ups and downs of my life since feb, yours is a tough one to draw. Partly due to how exact I know you want the details to be, and partly because I just seem to find any kind of wrestling difficult to draw (seriously, those Bear vs Badger comics I did took me AGES to finish). I will try me best to send you an update soon.
Hmm. I don't think Earth Eteranl is for me, to be honest. The characters look a little too 'cutesy' for my tastes. Plus, I don't have a facebook account and have no interest in getting one.
I'll be posting a specific Champions Online journal soon.
I'd have thought inking and coloring would have been the easier part of doing Art, pity you can't get someone else to do that part for you or something [Like some Artists do]
Yeah I guess a wrestling comic would be a pain as you'd have to get 2 charas positions poses and expressions just right etc, and also yeah I admit I'm a fuss pot and stickler for details
Yeah I kinda get what your saying about Earth Eternal looking "Cutesy" it went bust a year ago, took over by a Japanese company, then re-released, so its been Japanese/Cutified a little bit [And theres a old vs new style debate on the forums] it annoyed me more Badger and Bear aren't curently playable as before and to be honest the cutesy stands out most on Foxes in game [to me] The Japanese style to some of the new Armor etc in game is a bit wierd too [I had a helmet looked like a screwed up paper bag for awhile] but I only played to hit LVL 30 to qualify for a bonus when it comes out of Beta, so I'm back on SL again now.... [Did you quit SL in favor of CO ?]
Very pleased your still doing what your brilliant at. Dont feel discouraged by it. Your art is very epic. And like Kuma has mentioned. That julius comic for me was astounding! And the wonderful art your doing for me is just so excellent quality. Im really honoured to get work done by you.

Wow there is still places?.....interesting....ya know i really would like to take up one soon, need to wait till i get paid first before i even attempted on asking for more. I still need to pay you for what your doing for me now! So yeah. Ill concentrate on that first. Then ill think about the iron artist commissions.
Daww...no worries at all Cyber! Like ive aleways said before. Theres no time limit for me when it comes to asking for a commission. Im very open to however long it takes you to make. Heck, im sure everyone else is just as kind in saying that too. Maybe moreso than me. Heh.

Hmm..im not into pc games myself. Cos im not even sure what specs my pc has, and im more of a console gamer.
But..you can make yourself a furry on there??....

Can you be an Avian?
The avian options in Champions Online are a bit limited. You can get bird wings and a tail, but the only avian head available is a vulture. But they're adding more stuff all the time, and the games prodcuers have released some concept art recently for an 'Avian Warrior' set. However, it could still be many months before such a set gets added to the game, if ever.

Hmm..thats the propblem for most avians really. Hardly anything lets them be included. I wouldnt mind trying Second life but just form the fact its super hard to get a bird character or something, puts me off it.
But yeah! Avian Warrior sounds interesting!..shame i have a pants graphics card...
