On TheFurryForum, they are now lightly starting on a guide of sorts for people that are new to the furdom, that will help them understand and develop their own fursona. In order to gain knowledge on the subject we members have been asked to answer a few simple questions and I am posting them here, asking everyone to answer them as well. Please do this, and please link this on and let your friends reply below as well.

Why/how did you decide your fursona's species?
Is there a reason or meaning behind their name?
Did you just stick with natural animal colors, or did you have a reason for picking other colors?
Do you have any distinguishing markings on your fursona? If so, what are they, and why?
Does your fursona's personality match your own, or is it different?
Does your fursona have a back story different from your own past?

Mostly it was out of necessity and a lot of thought, most of the time i get classed as the jack of all trades, but i master in none..so i had to think what kind of creatures portray that naturally..and the only one i could think of was shapeshifters, the base form though was taken after finding out about a certain make of taurs back in 06-07 time on a quaint little MUD thats still active, "Furscape", so i chose a chakat.

Thats a bit of a doozy, the non-insane version would be that no one else had really thought of Kria much other than Ambersan...(who beat me to it by nearly 3 years >_>), the insane version....uhhh..Long lost mate named kria ...yeah.

Always loved blue, not sure why, so i decided to make my kria a little different with a bit of a multigloss coloring effect, Dark Sapphire blue, meaning shi is almost black in almost any darkness, but in softer light and direct light that beautiful blue hue would slip through.

None really...with being able to shift hir form so rapidly, keeping a marking is kind of confusing.

In certain ways..yes, i love to be the kind generous giving loveing type, but in this day and age those ideals only bring pain and trouble without the right person, so for now..no..im nothing like my fursona.

Shi has been around a LONG ASS TIME, and knows a LOT of different species >_< XD

Kria Really is an idealized version, i mean..whos isnt XD, but shi does hold a lot of my own personal flaws and interests, shy but good with people, ignorant yet can fix and repair many things, and loyal to a hard fault.
Panther, I've just always had this connection with cats. There is a grey long hair cat that lives on the route I walk to work/ the store that will run of its porch to get some attention from me. Its done this from the very first time it ever saw me.
They also fit a lot of my own personality traits strong, silent/stealthy, independent. solitary. Why a black panther of all large cats, simple its natural black.
Is there a reason or meaning behind their name?
Sort of, it started out as Cajaka on IRC. When I logged in though for a few times one of the more prominent furs in the chat started greeting me with "Hi Caji" It sounded cuter so I went with that.

Just natural colors. Dyeing/ bleaching my fur just sounds like so much work. :P

Its not as much of a marking as a trait. Because of having an arctic hare in my family tree. I shed off my black coat for a white on in the winter. If I had long hair it would be striped. I thought it would add a bit of a yin-yang idea to it.

Its just an expression of who I am. ... Both halves.

My fursona is just myself with a few physical traits different so I've never really needed to make one for either of halves.

Ahh.... Umm... I'm not sure how to full answer this one but Ill give it a try. I think of my self as having two separate parts to who I am the adult one that most people are familiar with and the much younger one that I am to afraid/ embarrassed to bring out around others. Both of these are expressed as separate fursonas.
