Update 14 Sep 2011 - University, Family Guy Animation
14 years ago
Hi folks, RipRoarRex popping my nose in.
Anyone who knows me well or has been following my journals will probably know that I have been unemployed since being made redundant last Christmas. Having spent much of the last 8 months doing volunteering and work placements, I decided over the summer that it was about time I focus on my career ambitions. As such, I'm going back to University in October to do a postgraduate course which will hopefully contribute to me getting my foot on my chosen ladder by this time next year.
Of course, this will have consequences for my work within the furry fandom. As a pretty demanding full-time course, my free time will be much reduced for the foreseeable future, meaning my workrate - which enjoyed something of a revival this year - is now going to decrease significantly.
My course starts in October so I have just two weeks left, after which I'll be very busy. As such, I'm trying to use these couple of weeks to see how much work I can get finished while I still have the time.
Top of the list is a Family Guy animation project involving Brian and Stewie. I started this back in March and, like most of my animation projects, I worked on it quite intensively for a couple of weeks before effectively leaving it dormant for much of the past 5 months. However, having resumed work on it in the past week or so, I am finally getting close to finishing it. The animation currently stands at just over a minute long - which by my standards is already the longest animation I've ever done - and I'm now working on the final scene. I'd like to say that it'll be done by Sunday, but knowing what I'm like, it'll drag on for longer than that. However, I'm very optimistic - and very eager - to get it done within the next few days.
If you're curious as to what the animation is, it is actually Panel 14 in my "Great Unfinished Collection" (second from the left on the bottom row). In fact, for anyone keeping count, you might have noticed that 3 other pieces from that collection have now been finished: namely Panel 10 (Seb - Nobility and Rank), Panel 11 (Rexar and Brumby - Supply and Demand) and Panel 13 (Tembe - Summoned By The Chief). I doubt I will be able to finish any of the others before I start university, but rest assured the majority of them are still very much in the pipeline, even if a few have now somewhat fallen by the wayside.
Anyway, there's my update - I'm now going to crack on with this project again, so hopefully you will be seeing it soon enough.
Best wishes,
RRRex
