A closer look into Room 366
Hello everybody,
For those who have been linked to this journal and don't know who I am: I am EZwolf and shooting films is both my passion and my profession. Amongst other productions, I'm also the one responsible for the (in)famous "Room 366" music video that has been going around on twitter lately.
48 hours after my music video leaked into public I think it's time to speak out about it. I can honestly say that at first I panicked a little when I heard the video went viral. It was originally only supposed to be shared among those who took part in it, after all. That panic however quickly changed into utter amazement: Amazement about how quick it spread, the amount of re-posts, and the number of views but sadly also about the rather hostile comments it got.
Some of the assumptions that were made about what this video really is about and why it was made, are quite telling about what is going on in some of the viewer's heads. People jumped to the most outrageous conclusions but I didn't see many who actually got it right.
So let me tell you what it is really all about!
"Room 366" is a spin-off project from a series of very appreciated and fun room parties held at different cons in Europe. The kind of room parties we all enjoy every now and then: A meeting with friends - nothing particularly raunchy. On a whim we decided to do a music video during this year's EF and share it amongst those that participated as a private video on YouTube.
It was supposed to be a parody of your typical run-off-the-mill pop music video, and we did not think much of it. Pick any random R'n'B song and you'll see considerably more booty being shaken than in Room 366. I consider it to fit perfectly within the limits of community and society standards - if you don't mind the costumes. This video shows nothing new. After all; It’s just fursuiters dancing, posing and cuddling. Attend any furcon and you see just this. Attend any regular dance party and you see people doing just this, only more poorly dressed. Youtube is already full of that, and unless you're new to the internet, you will know where to find much more offensive stuff. Seriously, if you really thought this video is a documentary about furry sex, take your mind out of the gutter and stop fantasizing!
The shit hit the fan however, when one of the participants posted the link here on FA. He took it down after about a minute when he realized he had accidentally published a private video. Unfortunately however that was enough to let the genie out of the bottle….
So, amongst the millions of hard core porn images on FA, suddenly a slightly suggestive dance video appeared in which actually NOTHING happens besides some fursuiters having fun together … and OMG, suddenly it was all over Twitter, Youtube and many more obscure communities not worth mentioning.
So, did it cause a lot of drama? It depends on your point of view…. Of course, the R366 video is an easy target for lonely trolls desperately seeking attention. Well, let the poor bastards have their fun. But it was also encouraging to see how many people actually enjoyed our video - far more than we would have expected.
And how did things turn out for me? Well, I got over 650 messages during the last 48 hours, and in some of them I'm being accused of deliberately having leaked this video for self promotion purposes. Believe me; promotion is fine, but if your main business is corporate video and your hobby is coming up with furry features, being "promoted" through 4chan is the last thing you want, thank you very much!
I'm absolutely not happy with the way this went public and I never intended to create such a fuss about it… but now it's out and I have to deal with it. I have no problem saying: I'm proud of this video, the work of everybody involved in the production, and especially the fursuiters who took part in it. You guys ROCK, no matter what!!
At this point, I want to stress that everyone involved unanimously agreed that we would share this video only amongst ourselves through an unlisted youtube upload. Looking back at what happened, it may be arguable if that was the best decision, but absolutely nothing during this production happened without the consent of the participants.
To all the people that keep re-uploading it: I probably don't have to tell you that you have no legal right to do so! But seeing the video gets hundreds of positive comments, and knowing that it's pointless to even try getting a video off the net once it went viral, let's just leave it like it is. [EDIT: I had some versions removed from Youtube though. I'm sure the folks that uploaded them know why]
To the thousands of furs who responded positive on this video trough FA, Twitter, YouTube and DM's I'd like to say: Thank you! You keep me and my friends motivated to make art the way we like it. I salute you!
Yours sincerely,
EZwolf

I would like to see it later today when I can get to a faster connection
You are a good guy with great ideas and know just how to cut it together in a video ;)
Thanks!
I was thinking of a spin-off, with me sitting in my hotelroom alone, browsing the conbook while drinking some. Because obviously, showing the outside world what's 'really going on' in those rooms (a lonely nerd taking a rest and wondering what panel to go to the next day) is FAR more important to the fandom than showing that furry conventions are just about a bunch of people having fun.
But yeah people blow it up way too much without any reason.
Just enjoy it being leaked and let the drama aside is what I tell people ;)
I have nothing to add though, you went over all the main points i've been wanting to talk about during these last 48 hours. I hope people will understand now :/
When I first saw it I was like 'So that's what they were doing there, nice!' and didn't bothered about it anymore. Another nicely done video made by you! :D
But yeah, one stupid thing leaded to the other, but can't be undone now. Oh well^^
I have more trouble seeing RnB/pop/whatever-the-kids-listen-to-these-days vids then one with Fursuits in it.
Some parts may look freaky for those not used to it. That's why it indeed should have been private.
(Now the problem is that it may put us in big troubles for Disneyland outings and such. :/)
This video, despite what people might think, is TAME. No bits and pieces showing, no sexual action.
If a Tame video would get us banned from an event such as halloween, i don't even want to think who else could be banned just if someone browsed for a fursuiter name and found a website like furaffinity :/
Understand that the way we (you, I, and the others who really enjoyed the video) see it is not the way everybody sees it. Add a little of suggestiveness to the recipe, and you have a probability of companies like Disney to ban us just for a harmless video.
Instant Death By Children.
If I have the opportunity of making such a photo someday, I will make it, and entitle it “HALP!” :D
Sorry i just need to point something :
Deihnyx never put anything on xtube, public websites and such. He has been baned anyway ('cause a leak like this famous video).
Again. Thank you so much for this awesome video! And thank you for letting me be a part of it! :)
That has nothing to do with any fetish or sexual things.
I don't regret that I joined because we laughed a lot and in the end no- "shit-hit-the-fan"
people really like it :)
Thank you
I won't hesitate to join the next project as well :)
Especially with you guys :3
I knew exactly what it was and it was a parody the moment the music started and the fursuiters shaking their asses X3
To me it's harmless and quite funny and cute :3
To those who are showing off with someone else's work (in which I mean the new distributors of the video on youtube) Please don't start uploading stuff you have nothing to do with! If the maker of this video wanted to have it uploaded he could have done it himself! Like EZ said, it's not even legal!
You may not see it this way, but for people like me trying to organise fursuit outing, this is a massive problem.
Exemple : FoxB was last year at Disney with us for halloween, what would today the parent of all the child he did cuddle would think if they see such a video ?
I don't personally think they would like it that much ...
And if Disney see it, as we know they check BBF video and other stuff, we would surely be ban for ever.
Also, as the material quality is really good, it could easely end up in any tv show about furries, aside of the CSI dance's ...
I don't really get why you did put it over youtube, little ftp with password would have avoid this problem, and maybee more futur one. And I'm so glad I didin't join you in fursuit even if I watch the shotting.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xbNEhezUfVE
What those things are depends greatly upon you.
If you totally flip your shit and portray this as the WURST THANG EVAR to the senior staff at the Magic Kingdom, then yes, it could result in a ban.
But if you ignore it, and don't make an issue out of it, then hey? Chances are exceptionally good that it won't be an issue at all. And if on the off chance that someone does see it, and bring it up at a meeting, you have several choices on how you can deal with it.
"WURST THANG EVAR!!!!!010101" *flip shit*
"*long, thoughtful, TL-DL explanation on the furry fandom and how everyone is different and special*"
Or...
"Hmm? Oh, that? Hah! Yeah, I saw that. Bunch of kids in Europe made that. Cute, but nothing to worry about."
You would be punishing more than just the humans who were in those suits, and some of those suits are worn by people with more disposable income than you.
I'd run your idea past a lawyer before carving it into any stone tablets and bringing them down from the mountain.
All fursuits from the same maker tend to have the same look to them.
You better ban all fursuits from any of the makers in the video.
Parents generally don't watch furry themed Youtube or 4chan videos. I don't think Disney would either.
They might check BBF video's but this video is not within his collection.
TV stations will NEVER broadcast stuff from Youtube without permission or copyrights sorted out.
Our video is tame, and i won't get back on that
It's true that it's not a reason to put even more material that can be use against us, but as we said that one's not maybe our biggest problem.
Yes, maybe some people could use that specific video against furries or fursuits to say no when we will ask for their permission to show up to an event or when we will ask to a place if it's ok for us to go there in fursuits, but if they do that, believe me, they would have done the same with even a tamer video, or even with videos of people outside of the fandom making crazy or stupid things with a rented mascot costum, as they won't be able or wouldn't want to do the difference.
Even some videos that were done as a joke, or some parodies, like the dick in the box one taken from Saturday Night Live, and played during conventions on the big screen, if seen out of context by some people searching only for reasons to reject or mock us would be enough for them to find those reasons, and those videos never make such fuss, or at least to that kind of level.
Keep on being awesome and making great videos
... And they all stink? :)
It's more like a Scribble party. Fun tho!
Dont let yourself get down becouse those few idiots that can see pas there own eyes.
stay awesome EZ
It's essentially your average MTV video reenacted with fursuits and dubbed over with some music. That's it. And heck, speaking from personal experience here, I've had far, far worse things pop up on lulz and all the usual sites, genuine porn of the particularly kinky variety that made me go "oh crap" as I came along the posts, and you know what - nothing happened. People left a few stupid comments, moved on, and after a week they *did no longer care*.
So enjoy Room 366 while its star shines (and if anyone wants to see it, as EZ said quite correctly, they _will_ find a way to find it), then we'll have a good chuckle, and next month something entirely different will be the topic du jour.
And to all those who are grinding their teeth, claiming they give fursuiters a bad name or want to exclude those who took part in this video from future events (what a ridiculous thought): I laugh into your faces! Sit back with a glass of your favourite wine, wait a week and Room 366 will have faded into furry folklore like so many things before. And lighten the fuck up!
And while the video's enjoying its 15 minutes of fame: Nice work EZ, even if you didn't intend me to see it.
1: When is the next video planned as I had a great afternoon with new and old friends!
2: It's a shame that certain people made a complete shitstorm out of this. Just goes to show that those people, no matter how old they are, are nothing but a bunch of crybabies.
What I do have to say is that the decision to post this video on Youtube, without any form of password protection, was far from the best idea even though it was unlisted. I think a lot of drama could have been avoided by choosing a more secure place IF you guys were really wanting to keep this private. The decision for Youtube and the private link and unlisting, leads to only one idea and that is that everyone agreed to SHARE this video with their close friends. Meaning that this video was uploaded with the intention to not just keep it within the group. You can't tell me that uploading this video on some FTP and share the link to 10 people, would have been too much effort, IF this video was just for the ones in it :P. This does NOT how ever, justify the open videos you can for example look on 4chan or Xtube. If people really want to see fursuit sex, then it's out there to be seen without much effort unfortunately. But on those sites you would expect it though.
And personally I don't think all this commotion has caused much damage out of the furry fandom. BUT it's never a good idea giving the media/press extra fuel to keep on being negative on us.
Done deal. Your still a good friend and I would never judge ya for it :). *hugs*
As a suggestion perhaps try releasing new videos on VIMEO first and post the link here on FA. Youtube has to much instant sudden & exposure or publication that trolls find far too easy to use.
On a technical point. I also noticed that even when logged into youtube YT has blocked the video's downloadability through most YT video download software. " video does not exist" .
Please don't give up Ezwolf. It's truly refreshing and inspiring to see honest furry videos no matter the subject matter.
Thank You.
It was a funny, well shot little movie. I enjoyed seeing it and seeing the participants enjoying themselves enacting it. It's nice to see that after the initial drama, it seems to be gathering more and more positive comments.
This is a lovely journal. I am happy to see that you're staying so level-headed through all of this. ^^ Then again, as Doco stated above, it'll probably all blow over in a short while.
Most of the people commenting on my YouTube page have stated that the video is actually quite cute, and a few have been interested in suiting and wanting to attend "furry parties". Yea, it was bashed before, but now that its been out and more people have seen it the majority of the comments received about it are positive.
As far as the people getting angry about it, why? There is nothing explicitly provocative going on. This isn't a fursuit sex video. There is no dong swinging around and hips banging together. We all know that it was choreographed. I have seen much worse on MTV in the past than this. If my employer saw this, and was actually able to put 2 and 2 together based off the video and figure I was a person in the video, they would laugh and ask to come to the next party. The fact you all participated and pulled off this sort of video would actually show that you are great at short acting stints. I do not see any career breakers here. The people part of "Paws for a Cause" and other groups like it can use it as another way to show that they can ham it up in character in a variety of situations.
To everyone involved: Congratulations on being in a well made video and enjoy your popularity that will come from it. If I were there, I sure as heck would have loved to take part in it.
I have nothing against the video and find it very well made and enjoyable. I am very proud of Ezwolf and all the video participants and don't be put off future videos by the naysayers and fellow furs that suddenly show their true hypocritical selves.
As a suggestion perhaps try releasing new videos on VIMEO first and post the link here on FA. Youtube has to much instant widespread publication exposure that trolls find far too easy to get access too and use to our eternal aggravation.

Its fun to watch, good work, and amazing :)
I support this video,no matter the trolls or whatever:) Having suits in parties this this much rocking is way better than regular stuff!:)
Your video was actually quite nice EZ and it looks like you guys had a lot of fun there, however this situation must give it some bitterness. All I can say is to keep it up and don't get your spirit down by it, you're a great artist.
With regards to trolling, comments etc.. via twitter, i confess to passing some jokes about it myself, but I feel comfortable doing so in as much that I know pretty much everyone in that video and consider many of them friends. Many know my dry sense of humour and that I am quite sarcastic. If you saw anything that might have been misconstruned as offensive, well this certainly was never my intention and meant purely in jest.
The one lesson learnt from this I think is people not 'flirting' with content/material that potentially could be very desirable. I am personally aware of the Room 366 thing from its origins quite well, and I know that people were bragging about having material in the lobby the following day at CF. This naturally creates an air of curiosity, desire, and frustration for those that could not see. Therefore, when something like this leaks, its no wonder that it rapidly see's the light of day.
However, with that in mind, I would hope (and from reading your post I do not think it wil) that this experience will not prevent you from creating more high quality productions in future. Hopefully, the limelight will shift again soon and focus will move away from this video, and onto such productions as Bitter Lake, which deservedly required the same sort of response as this video got.
Cheers,
Rizzorat
I actually thought that his fandom was this openminded group of people... I have no clue why I thought that, reading all the negative and shamelessly hurtful remarks people spew. Almost makes me ashamed to be a furry!
There is nothing wrong with this vid... nothing at all... its a cool vid as are most productions you make.
That people use the misfortune of this vid leaking over the web as a personal vendetta against you or those involved makes me quite angry.
I've worked with you closely on a lot of projects and creative outbursts and I am proud of every single one.... and I am proud to call you my friend. I look forward to the day we will be at the helm of a new project and I hope it will be soon!
If anything... room 366 has created a new stigma... Envy Furs. And my god, there are hundreds if not thousands of em.
Be safe, be proud and be mindful of what can happen the next time you create something the fandom is not ready for :)
*hugs*
Pup
I lol'd hard at the fact that every fur who thinks dirty (pretty much a large portion) go "OMG you sick faggots are getting us in trouble!"
getting us in trouble ? That makes them sound so guilty doesn't it? xD
It looks incredibly fun and tame, but at the same time has that adult edge which is so familiar in music videos of today
I really enjoyed the playful atmosphere of it ^^
I think the importance of the drama itself is vastly overrated. It's furries. They make drama, and LOTS of it, over every single banner that is on this site. Can anybody take people like that seriously?
Though I won't be able to make it to Europe any time soon, I definitely stand by this, and I just wanted to say "awesome video!" and thank you so much for making it, even if it wasn't intended for me to see.
Gonna get "Bitter Lake" as soon as I can :)
sweetie, i LOVED the vid, you picked a good song(id love to suggest another to you) and the production and post production looks fantastic, you got the right ppl at the right time for this vid(as far as suit dancer, some ppl like me are really 4 left feet x3 and would make horrid anything in a music vid)
our biggest problem on the whole is the amount of hypocritical people bawing out "you're ruining our reputation" while they themselves have more fringed fetishes posted all up and down their pages.
i do hope you make more, god if you come to AC id like to coordinate something with you for that (though i will need staff permissions and hotel permissions for the space to do it in x3)
I don't understand why people would get in a shitstorm about this. You obviously didn't make this to put a negative view of the fandom. You COULDN'T have. And that's because you're the producer of Bitter Lake, something that no one has ever done before, and you put yourself through the fucking HELL it took to make that movie.
If anything, I think you probably love this community more than HALF the furries who populate it. And again, you have my respect. I can't wait to work with you one day. :)
It's an amazing work. Kudos to you, and Tillikum, and Reeve, and all the suiters in there.
Trolls will troll. Baww'ers will baww. Just ignore 'em.
I find it unfortunate that such a tame, and rather cute (truth be told), video has created such a massive storm of criticism and divide in our community. It should never have been an issue were this released to more than the participants - though it is sad that it was, given that you all wished to avoid just this type of crap and simply enjoy what you worked on - and it is clear just how immature and childish some people, both in general as well as within the fandom, can be.
To all those that have an issue with the video: what is wrong with you? Can you not just grow up and behave like the rational beings you are?
Thank you for actually doing something like this - keeping art and creativity, and satire, alive and well -, to those in the video. While you may have wished it to remain between you, it was well done. And great fun to watch. Kudos!
I actually saved it with a Youtube downloader addon when I first came across it, because I knew it wouldn't last, and I ended up being right, hah. But I never shared it, I only saved it because I liked it enough to want to have a local copy of it (which I do with ALL youtube videos I like).
I also have to say, as the owner of a scribble suit myself, and even seeing how this turned out after all the criticism of it, I would have been glad to participate in it too had I been at EF! But I wasn't, so it's a moot point *chuckles*
People really just need to relax and stop being so paranoid and critical of the community they're a part of and trying to look at everything in the worst light possible. I think a lot of furries would be much less paranoid of what people thought of them if they realized how little people actually do care. Most of what I see of criticism toward furries is posted as something specifically designed to get a reaction out of furries, and people using this video for such means are deriving great success from it purely because of our own paranoia. I showed this video to my MOM after explaining how people were freaking out about it, and even she didn't think there was anything bad about it.
tl;dr version: furries being unnecessarily paranoid about their public image when really no one cares except for trolls, who would troll all the same regardless! Nothing to worry about here. Just an amazingly well done music video from you and all the participants.
I'm not saying it's bad to encompass sexuality into artwork, but at least be forthcoming about it. To be blunt, I don't think face-saving furry politics are going to save you either way, so you might as well just be outright honest and say: hey, we thought it would be sexy, and it's nobody elses' business since, get real, furries aren't asexual, and neither are your typical music videos. Honesty is all.
I think the fact that "furry" is still considered a bit taboo, even in modern society, is where concern over public image arises. Society looks for the weird and freaky subcultures to pick on because they aren't used to them. Honestly, if the furry fandom was less secretive or in denial about its highly sexual nature (for the most part), there wouldn't be far less drama. They would become bored with us and look to other freaky subcultures to pick on. Society just needs to grow up and realize that it is human and animal nature to have sex, to be sexy and do sexy things for others' entertainment.
I occasionally do public events with my suit, mostly involving kids, and yes I am a bit cautious about doing risque things with my suit and having the potential for it to go public, but even if something were to happen and I ended up with a negative public image slapped on my forehead, so what? I know that I've done nothing wrong - in accordance with my own morals and common public standards. One person, let alone a small group of people within the furry fandom do not, and should not, dictate society's view on the furry fandom. Anyone with common sense knows not to judge a book by its cover. But then again, common sense isn't all that common anymore, sadly.
Again, awesome video. I applaud you and everyone that was involved in it. I would love to be in a video like this! Just saying. ;)
Before anyone feels tempted to have a go at me, I just want to say that I'm not saying the video is not well made or should never have been made, in fact most of the things debated about the video, I honestly have no opinion of. All I'm saying is that there MUST be room for disagreement in this community, we can't just label anyone who disagrees with us as a "troll".
I'm also saying that I fear my job representing our community to the outside is made more difficult by this. No blame cast, I'm sure there were nothing but good intentions going into this.
It's easy to follow a group, but I think it's awesome you represent your own opinion on this even though it goes against the main stream here.
Don't think anyone would oppose to your different view and slam you for it. You go girl!
First of all, I don't think everyone who disagrees is considered a troll here. The thing is that a big percentage of people who were not happy about this video expressed it in words that probably get me kicked off this thing if I would repeat them here.
Let's face it, there are only a few people who discussed this manner in a reasonable and calm way. It's rather easy to call all those who didn't like it trolls because of the behaviour of the majority. Is this right? No. Is it understandable? Maybe. Is it a reason to boomerang the whole issue by accusing the fandom as a whole of being intolerant? Definitely not.
Everyone, sit back, take a cup of tea, and reconsider before posting. :)
*shrugs* I'll leave it though, I just want everyone to behave decently.
I really can't believe some of the things I've read about the video, though. One believed it was a video made from an actual room party where naughty activities were taking place. If anything that looks like is going on in the video was happening for real when it was shot, it would not have been possible for it to look as good as it did in the video. This was very obviously choreographed and I have no doubt that as soon as the recording of each shot stopped, so did the posing and acting, to position for the next scene. I'm not accusing you of thinking that, but I did read it elsewhere, so I'm just saying! Some folks are taking it way out of context.
It's all about community reaction though. By trying to remove it and keep it private and saying it's not supposed to be shared, that makes it sound like it IS a bad video, when it's not. The more people say not to share it and say they wish they hadn't been a part of it and it had never gotten out, etc, the more people will think it's because it really is a sex video. I think that's part of the perception problem, to be honest. Present it openly as a pop music video parody and it loses most of the stigma.
Anyway, just rambling more of my thoughts here. Sorry.
Ok so i've not seen it or known about it, but from your disription its pretty clear.
These things happen and more will be done & leaked over the years creating over the top drama.
What counts is that everyone in it agreed, had a laugh & from what people are saying & from seeing Bitter Lake, it was well made.
Intriged to see it but life goes on
What stands out is that I *did* get the video. It was a music video with a "wink" towards today's music television, so to speak.
Yes, it has a few edgy scenes in there that might make some furries uncomfortable, but it's quite tame compared to what kids watch on music television channels these days. Minus the fursuits.
Although I was never allowed to watch this video, I do not regret it. Theme aside, you and those involved delivered another great artistic production.
Get over the shock, breathe for a moment, learn from it and move on. Things will blow over eventually and life will take it's course as usual, making this just another story for around the campfire to chuckle about.
Though some of the participants did come down to our suite afterwards ;)
1. Based on the very obviously posed shots, the zooms, black and white to color shots, and differing angles, I can tell a good amount of production seemed to go into this video. It's very well timed, very good looking and smooth from a filming perspective. So hats off, it's a great piece of entertainment.
2. Also I readily saw this as a form of parody. Maybe because I've been examining some hip hop and dance videos of late looking at dance moves....and I what I saw in those videos was far more explicit than anything in your video. Heck, I can go to the cinema and see an "R" rated movie that's way more explicit. So I'm not sure where people are getting the "OMG, this ruins everything" mentality. If you were trying make a video that was entertaining, kinda poking fun about parties, and overall not taking itself too seriously....you did a really great job.
3. I think it's a lot more telling that there are people not willing to respect personal requests when someone asks not to post something or to remove a post. Civility is all but vanishing, and when someone is asked to remove something they didn't create themselves, but publicly refuses to do so...and then starts quoting law on why they don't have to, it really just shows more of a lack of respect and a lack of decency on their part. It certainly puts them in a rather precarious position should they ever be in a situation where people need to trust them, but folks may not because of their past behavior. The comment of "If you wanted it private, don't put it on the net" doesn't absolve someone from respecting someone's requests concerning their own work.
4. I do understand the concerns of individuals who do public appearances, and may be concerned about certain costumes possibly preventing future appearances. It's a valid concern. Having done appearances at charities and orgaanizations myself, I know that there are lot of things that can jeopardize possible outings. Had the video stayed "in fandom", it may not have been an issue. But if it truly goes viral as someone decided to post it on the "Tosh.0" site and that could lead to a broadcast....it could very well cause some issues for public appearances. Sadly, that is something that can't be ignored. Living very close to Walt Disney World, I know just how tough that can be.
All things told, my best advice is just laugh it off. There are hypocrites out there. There are also a lot of people that just want to make fun of anything that they can....because that's all they can do.
BTW....been talking to Shay about the screening of Bitter Lake at Anthrocon. Will you be at AC as well?
Sadly I wholeheartly agree with point #4 that it might very well make public appearances a
helluva more difficult for the US fursuiters (Europians are more or less OK in my opinion).
We will just have to sit this out and see what will happen.
About AC, I still have to decide if I attend FC or AC or maybe both.
The only thing you can do is educate, /4/chan is only using this because they know our fandom is too stuck in the 2000s. We still say CSI every chance we get, it's been almost 10 years and almost 5 years since the CSI writers admitted they exaggerated for "entertainment purposes" (Which only makes me question who the real weirdos are). We really need to stop being victims and being more the forward characters we play as.
For those who think about the video isn't a right thing to other people see, why some of they still spreading links?
Without any difficult you can find a lot of 'not famlily friend videos' on internet, and I'm not talking about furrie videos.
Awesome camera work
Awesome editing
and cute fursuits
Can one ask for anything more? =^.^=
When I first saw the vid, I was a little concerned that it might fall into the wrong hands and ultimately become bad PR for the whole fandom. But like anything, it will all blow over and will just become another memory. Nothing too intense was shown, just some silly grindin and dancing. I can think up of other clips that would make this look tame.
First it was the MLP banner on FA, now Room 366. How much more can the fandom handle??? XD
What I don't understand is why everyones got a stick up there ass about to people in costumes being cute when there are sex vids all OVER youtube. Like, uuuh, yeah, double standards are the stupidest fucking thing -_-
Since when did 'Showing Affection in a Loving Way = Porn'?
I saw the video, and was prepared to be viewing loads of murrsuits humping or something. What I saw instead was one of the most well-made and detailed fursuit videos I've seen since I joined the fandom.
Are some of the scenes suggestive? Yes, a little. Are they any different to most music videos nowadays? With the exception of the fursuits, no.
I enjoyed it and think there should be more projects like this (music video parodies etc.).
As soon as I saw the video I knew it was going to cause a shitstorm of drama, but not because of the video itself, but because these people we are talking about here are the very same ones making a drama out of a banner because it happens to have a fucking pony on it.
It's sad, because I've always seen the fandom as a very open minded bunch of people sharing a common interest but whenever I see behaviors like this happening it sure makes me wonder.
I can't really stand the "shoot first ask questions later" behavior either, bashing people because they assume and give for granted something was made a certain way or because of a particular reason.
The same way I can't stand hypocrites that make stupid comments when they are no one to talk in the first place.
People should stop taking things so seriously, learn to laugh at themselves and enjoy life instead of worrying for petty stuff.
You made a wonderful job and you should be very proud of it, wuffy.
So ignore the idiots and keep coming the awesome job as usual :)
Genius!
If you had just posted it on youtube normally, probably only would have gotten a few hundred years. Way to milk the drama.
As far as uploading a video that is not their own, as people have done, I recently found the US code of copyright infringement on such a matter. Not is it illegal to upload but it's even illegal to watch a pirated video on YouTube. In fact the punishment can be anywhere from $200-750 per view of an illegally posted vid.
Hope you guys continue to have such fun.
Then admittedly, after repeated viewings I let my furry imagination go and well, yeah....
There is just too damn much sexual repression and sexual hypocrisy in the furry fandom and I think that many of these young furs somehow think that the fandom is something that owes them something.
When the original Youtube link was leaked to me, I posted a comment to complement you and immediately was inundated with sniffling little brats calling me all sorts of names thinking they were insulting me. LOL! One look at their profiles and the furry porn was all over my screen. It wasn’t hard to call them on it and they went away very quickly.
I know this video is light-hearted and fun - I think people are needlessly seeing something that isn't intended. Perhaps they shouldn't have watched it in the first place.
On a broader note, I don't see the problem if two (or more) consenting adults want to do 'stuff' in suit in private. It's almost always harmless, just a silly and affectionate expression between themselves.
Hoop dat je in de toekomst meer music video's maakt! Geweldig! :3
As to the whiney drama queens I only have this to say.... If you don't like it then be a big boy or girl and dont watch it!
And for all the people whining about this making the fandom look bad:
A) What have you been doing to make the fandom look good?
B) Do you really think this tops or even compares to the staggering amount of pr0n on FA/Inkbunny/SoFurry when it comes to making the fandom "look bad"?
Affection.
The grinding and butt-grabbing? Typical music video. That little bit where the fox gives a little Eskimo kiss to his partner's muzzle? Heart-meltingly adorable, and sadly not so typical.
Maybe I'm old hat here but I still don't see what the butt hurt is over. I think the whole idea of why I fursuit is to just have fun and to me that looks like a lot of harmless fun.
Hate all you want, haters. We'll just keep on loving. Paws on.
Then read the comments, and wasn't surprised about the disgusting gutter headed people who instantly thought SEX SEX SEX YIFF YIFF YIFF,fuckin morons
I'm glad I saw it but I'm also sorry it got leaked on you :/
Not much left to say after all those comments.
Shame I probably won't get to see any more of such production from you.
That said, I took that video to heart exactly as you described it. It was a fun music video, that, while risque, had great production value and just very well made and synchronized perfectly with the song.
Personally, I think the My Little Pony subculture is more of a stain and more creepy than this video, and I like MLP.
saying that how ever Its a well made cool vid Just wish there wasnt all guys! FFS BRING IN THE GIRLS NEXT TIME XD
haters going to hate
who gives a toss its to late to worry about now!
To be honest, and I will be if you'll appreciate that, at first I didn't really like it. The closed minded part of me just saw a bunch of people in fursuits touching eachother up in a manner I wouldn't feel comfortable with if I was there and/or seeing it near me.
As a future fursuit owner, I've always loved fursuits. They're amazing, and CAN be sexy. But I don't want to see them in-that-light. Outsiders will ONLY see the negative side of it if mentioned to them. A lot will see it as a simple video of suiters having fun. It just depends on their views and opinions.
My opinions always differ because I try to be as open minded as I can. Or at least I'm more happy to change my opinions as time goes on from reading other people's views, and of course hearing them at the head of the table (ie, yourself).
In lighter terms, the video was well made, and I appreciated the effort that went into it. While I still don't feel comfortable with the whole thing, I can at least admit that it was pretty awesome in terms of how it was made and seeing my friends have a good time.
I'm sorry that this ended up being a big massive splotch on the internet though, but at least those who appreciate it, got to see it for what it really was.
I'm glad you all had fun and hopefully this doesn't keep you from making more fun little things like this.
And then seriously scratch my head at all the drama. I think the only reason people are freaking out about it is because of how it went viral. Yet I see far 'worse' things posted every single day to FA. OMG no the video is 'suggestive' so what? All the porn people have faved in their galleries is far freakier and such.
Anyway, nice job on the video editing etc.
So...
When you want to do that remake of the Kenye West "POWER" video, http://youtu.be/L53gjP-TtGE with me, let me know, mkay?
Cheers.
The two who stated the video quote law but they don't understand that merely quoting the law doesn't mean they understand it.
YouTube's lawyers understand the issue better. They don't.

I finally got someone on my f-list who posted a link to this, and I gotta say, WOW! This...is...AWESOME!!!
Well done all around!
Of course the cowards, the pussies and the milque-toasts are all snarfing their warm milk out their noses, but seriously? Who cares?!?
*gives otter pawstamp of approval*
I just wish "normal" people would touch each other with the same gentleness and loving tenderness like those folks in suit were doing?
We'd be a lot less emotionally constipated as a species if we would.
O.o
Disgusting
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AzeJ6iLJjWE
Also, I would like it to be on your YouTube profile because I like it very much and I don't want to favorite it from another person's account in case they remove it in the future. ^^ And also it would mean I encourage people who post your works without permission, which is not the case!
I wasn't sure at first because as a metalhead myself I didn't initially see that it was a pop music parody. Pop vids make me go anyway!! I'm still a bit unsure, but yeah, it does stand out regardless that it is very well shot and edited and some really nice fursuits in there!
Not-so-standing ovation for being murrypurry in fursuits.
You sir have won points in the stupidity department for getting butthurt over a comment that not only didn't give asspats, but was pointing out WHY it was bad, you are not credit to team.
In case you have any doubt; mine is here: http://www.youtube.com/user/TheEZwolf
As for the video, it's tasteless, silly, and entertaining. Nice job will the filming!
Considering how far down this comment is I have a feeling you will never read it, but I saw your video and thought that it was rather well done. My friends and I out here on the west coast of the US do much the same but not nearly as well done.
Kudo's on a good video, even if it ended up all over youtube. :)
Think that sumed most of it up I think?
Nice job to the fur suiters!
Posted to Craigslist Afghanistan and Iraq, hopefully you guys get some fans.
It's interesting to note that many people complaining about it have vast amounts of hardcore porn art in their galleries and favourites. If I was a parent or in the media I know which one would give a worse impression of the fandom.
ANYONE can see an unlisted video if they have the link. Only a set few determined by the uploader can see a private video.
Not going to argue, just pointing this out.
Far as I see it, what's done is done and there's no way to change that.
You're allowed your opinion and I prefer to agree to disagree if it comes to it.
As a videographer, I can appreciate this music video, exclude the song chosen and the suggestive mind some of us may have.
Frizz out!
As for any drama it may have caused, I don't see why people assume its a drama causing s*** disturber. Its harmless compared to how mainstream media has depicted the Fandom/Community of Furry. It's almost childish how viral this video has become when it was meant to be only for the eyes of those who were involved in. But I guess it just took one person or more to decide to find it, and repost it as a way to stir up drama and other childish stuff. Not only has the video been countlessly reposted on YouTube. It's been put into that stupid Meme of Hitler sitting there all sad and depressed over something that has been used for several Meme like topics that the video of Hitler has been used. But the one that has been posted up about the video "Room 366" in general is meant as his reaction to the video.
The video is just that, a video nothing else. Though I do agree that what was in the video can be misleading and will just make people think its all about sex. Maybe for the next one you should make it a little more tame then this. Just my small opinion is all.
Id actually like to be dancing in the background of the next one. (I do have a suit xD)
And being on FA s fun. There are nice people here.
The most noticeable thing about this affair is the attitude of all those who were involved: you all (EZwolf, Gwyndolium, foxfur, EosFoxx, et al) sound like a really nice bunch, and your reactions to the drama show your personalities beautifully.
Both in the OP and comments, they come across as polite, mature, patient, goodhumoured and reasonable. Even in the face of people reposting their private stuff. It's a really admirable drama-less attitude.
I've only been to one furry con, but you guys make me want to go to lots more :)
Thank you for existing.
and it wasnt the music video, just a bunch of random crybabies who probably watch sexually explicit mainstream music videos but wanna just whine.
Way to many take this shit way to &*3%ing serious.
*clears throat* grow the $@&# up peter pans
Fortunately, the trolls were mostly still arguing over the my little pony FA banner to notice the room 366. However, that being said, we made some really furry but x-rated films, in suite Room 161, just down two floors from you Cheetah Spotty. If OURS went viral, I would have 3,000 cleanfurs hacking all my banking accounts right now.
Keep up the good work...
theres dancing, theres cuddlng, what else?
some people stereotype furs too much.
Really, if there was a chance of this vid going public (and I'm sorry it happened in a way you didn't control), what kinds of comments were you expecting? ;)
From a artist view I have to stay it was a wonderful piece of work, I enjoyed watching it, [even if i not a fan of the song] as ThedarkestTroll [from youtube] put it 'I hope we do hit the "We're done with crap! Think what you want, internet!!" point.' It would be nice as trolls would have nothing to feed on. I, like you was shocked at the number of positive posts. I was let down by some of the more 'hostile' comments from both sides, but that is our society, having to defend ourselves always having to be right and not thinking our comments out completely. [I was bad for that, when i was younger]
But to change topic, You did a great job on that, and i would love to see more stuff done by you in the time to come, and if the trolls come tolling, I will love and tolerate the shit out of them... After all Furries are an open and accepting bunch.
People are crazy
My opinion - you should have shared it with community right after creation & approval of those who took part in it.
And apparently it would helped to avoid drama...
I wanted to express my support and say hey, I personally loved the video, I really saw nothing wrong with it. When the flak stops flying and things calm down, I hope you'll look back at it with pride. I know the vast majority (probably even 100%) of the friends in my circles feel the same way, too.
Rock on. Much love and respect.
is this a sex video? no. not even close compared to what's viewable in the mass media (which i think is what you're getting at.) still, i am leery a little bit. if Tyra and CSI and all the rest have taught me is that the media will misrepresent us however the hell they want if it will get ratings... and the idiots that lap up that shit will take the stance that this is somehow evil or nasty or perverted.
still, it's far, far better than that Chewfox cunt selling the entire fandom out for a few bucks.
On a broader note, I think that actual intimacy whilst in suit is completely fine anyway. It's almost always harmless and "why people get uptight about what is such a cute, silly and affectionate expression of pleasure between two (or more) consenting adults when there's much worse out there to get worked up about such as child abuse, I'll never understand. "
OR SO I THOUGHT...
And yeah it was pretty hot, not gonna lie! *^^*
I hope that you're encouraged to make a part 2, intended for distribution. ^v^
1: FIT!
2: when can i star in the next one :D
all i have to say there.
More please?
Hey, it's cute, it has a little "sexah" frosted over the top, ain't nothing wrong with that. And since we're on the subject anyway, oldie but a goodie:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b4P8wArG93w
Regardless of what the trolls and prudes in the fandom think, it's about time fun stuff like your video was brought to the forefront so that the public can see that furries are people too. We laugh, we cry, we dance, and we even love.
Definitely adding you to my watch list!
You're a good director yes, but there's much better content you could have.. should have made instead of troll fodder.
hope all those who were in it are not being harassed to much , your groupings were incredible . the sheer artistry of the way you put it together . the close ups the cut aways and the ending i have now watched that vid over a dozen times , and let me say that i normally do not watch vids of this nature but this one was so compelling .
no i am not a prude , and did find you vid very stimulating especially the tiger and the oh so cute doggies .but saddly most vids which include stuff of this nature , are just plain crude .congrats it's time we stop hiding so much . there is so much talent in the furry fandom wow. huggles cousin wizzy
i would not be suprised if some big comercial firm snaps you up , you do awesome music vids .who knows
Seriously? Drama? Over this video? WHY?!
I watched the video. I thought it was excellent. Lots of good dancing, and EXCELLENT camera work. As for it being "suggestive" I've seen a lot worse on prime time TV.
I guess with the economy in the crapper people just can't afford the same quality of drama that they used to. Sad.
EZwolf: I hope you'll ignore the idiots and ignorant, intolerant people and make more like this. I personally loved it. While I understand it was intended to be a private video, I'll admit to being a bit glad that it got leaked so I could see it, though disappointed that it's causing such an outpouring of pointless drama.
If everyone's proud of it and happy to have done it, why was it agreed to only be kept between those that were involved in its making? Surely that suggests that there's something about it everyone thought the rest of us shouldn't see?
It was an amazing video that deserved the fame it has gotten. :3
Despite that fact, I still think it's great (I thought it was cute and really well done) and people are being way too butt hurt over it...I just think it's silly to deny at least some parts weren't...at least a LITTLE raunchy.
Look at Alejandro by Lady Gaga, you see her in "sexually-suggestive" shots on her music video.
It goes to show, tame shots make a good hit.
Just saying, not trying to drop on ya. xD But you also hold a point :P
But seriously, it doesn't actually bother me, and I liked the video ;p guess I'm just sort of pet-peeving about the 'it's tame compared to OTHER stuff' thing.
what you did here was merely give people a glimpse into the world of creativity that comes along with being a furry. whether you are a dancer, DJ, performer, artist, suit maker, photographer of the cons, videographer, or writer, we are all a part of the same creative community and we all create from our minds what we think would show the world our more artistic sides.
sure, some things are taken well beyond the realm of holy shit (pardon my french), and people will blow things out of proportion six-ways from sunday, but that is just human nature. when people envy something/someone, and i mean really envy something/someone, and jealousy blinds them from being unbiased and mature, being an adult in shorter terms, they will do everything in their power to ruin the "good name" of something/someone.
such is the case here. people saw something that they dont see on a "normal" basis, something that has been stereotyped against furries as "fur fags", and that we're all gay, that we all screw one another in suits, etc etc...the list goes on. however, here, in this video, you were trying to capture something creative and unique, and my hat is off to you. thankfully, both people of the community and others outside of it liked it enough to state their positive reactions to it.
liked and added to favorites on youtube.
you keep doing what you're doing. through your camera you will make plenty of videos that capture the unique creativity and imaginative world of what we as a community do with our time at cons and crush the rumors and stereotypes that have been chained to the community for years.
cheers bud!
*Tanek*
Cheers to art!
I commented on the original vid and on your YouTube page, but I wanted to say it again.
I love the vid. I love the song. It's completely adorable! There was nothing overtly explicit. It was nice to see some love being spread around. I feel like people have really lost touch with what it means to be intimate with people in a non-sexual way (even though I know you guys were trying to parody the overt sexuality of pop videos) and everyone seems to forget that hugs and a bit of petting feels great now and then!
Great quality, too. Your vids are really impressive. I hope to snag a copy of Bitter Lake one of these days.
It's just a video, for shits and giggles.
Unless there was some hardcore sex or something, then there is something to fuss about.
sure I'm not one to get into a furpile, but I am one to watch good videos :3
The sad thing for me is that I cannot visit Disneyland at Halloween now, because people think disney finds that Video on Youtube and cancels the whole event. Can be just a lie, and the truth is something else, but in the first moment I heard that I was pretty pissed off.
But ok, doesn't matter that much. It was fun, and if you do this again, count me in *gg*
Furry Fandom without drama is simply not possible...
I get that some people can be uptight about what is sexy, suggestive, and what not but this was too cute So a watch from me for you and all whom have admitted to being part of it
Oh and now finding out the connection between you and bitter lake i look forward to seeing that as well
politics: While I mostly keep my sexuality behind closed doors, I get annoyed with people that try to say there's no sexuality in the fandom. Guess some sick denial bit :(
I don't understand why there is or there was so much drama about it. Other EF videos are pretty much the same material, only unedited or had just basic editing made.
But this, this brings things on a completely new level ! _It is how it should be done._
This video has so much potential behind it it was probably only a matter of time, before it got leaked and at this point I would be a bit mad knowing something so good exist and I was unable to see it :)
Once it was out, actions became irrelevant (one often meets his destiny on the road he takes to avoid it :)
I am just glad something like this exists, cheers me up everytime I see it :)
like ithas been said, you seem the same darn thing in regular music videos, and those tend to have LESS clothing.
and yet, adding fursuits to it, and NoooOO... it's awful and immoral or some crap. bah!.
i, very much enjoyed watching this, not because of the sexual aspect, but from an artistic point of view. and i can only wish, i were as good as that wit ha camera, heheh.
enough of a random's ramblings now. enjoy your work, and i hope you are not dettered from makingmore lovely parodies and such.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KqjB.....eature=related
Trolls; fuck 'em
I heard complaints about this video from some friends, and thought; Well if it is bad, I might as well judge it myself, before I condemn it on someone else's opinion. {:3 I saw it, and it didn't shock me or anything.
It's quite cuddly, and pretty tame for something that can be called "yiffy". =3
I recommend making more vids as tame as this, because I've been around the net for far too long... And I've seen stuff that makes me regret being furry... /._.\
My personal opinion, if you can, please make more videos like this. Hopefully we can overcome the oppression we face as others have before us.
-slaps himself-
One, I think the video itself looked very good and very professional.
Two, let's agree to disagree on music taste. x.x
I just can say that I like the video and I envy you guys for it. Keep it up with the good work! :)
I'm a true fur and am always proud to wear my tail EVERYWHERE! I have as yet in public have a negative comment (except one incident with stupid cops). Our image is not that bad. Persons who think we are are sadly misinformed and closed minded.
I need to say this response as I still defend the video and what it showed of us. We are still as I put it "The Good Guys"!
A bunch of furs having fun.. where's the harm in it? Except for a few very vocal dumbasses who either cause drama for the drama's sake, or who until now thought that furries aren't whole people with all their desires and activities.
Yeah, furries sometimes have fun. Yeah, the fun can become suggestive sometimes. This video is rather tame compared to non-furry reality.. I mean, go to any larger disco or party location, and there will be people fucking in the bathrooms or even in the hallways. Go to any room party at a con, and there will be people boning. Been there, seen it often enough. YT and XT and even Fakebook are full with documentations of such acts.
The only thing to regret about this video is that I wasn't in that party =^.^=
In fact i got into an discusion with a friend of mine, the discussion ended right when i asked him if he has seen a music clip in tv^^
(his answer ok your right :P)
however looking forward to your future works ;)
