Official Event Guidelines/Rules
In order to try to bring a more mature level of interaction with the non-furry public, we have decided upon a few guidelines. By adding our group and attending events, you agree that you are a member of the group and will abide by these rules and guidelines:
The following general rule supersedes all others listed below and may be invoked at any time:
Any action or behavior that causes significant interference with meetup operations, excessive discomfort to other attendees, or adversely affects Panhandle Furs' relationship with its members, its event location, or the public is strictly forbidden and may result in permanent banning from events. You are responsible for maintaining mature conduct at events, so be mindful of how you are acting.
Introduction
The primary purpose of Panhandle Furs is for our members to have fun. To ensure that the greatest number of people achieve this objective we have established certain rules of conduct. By them we seek only to ensure that the behavior of any one small group does not disturb the membership as a whole, nor does it detract from the relaxed and comfortable atmosphere of the events. Panhandle Furs welcomes all parties with an interest in anthropomorphic animals; however, the group's owners reserve the right to deny or revoke the membership of any individual at any time for any reason. Panhandle Furs also reserves the right to amend these rules at any time without prior or posted notice and reserves the sole right of interpretation. In any dispute, the general rule above will apply. If you have any questions, please contact the page owners for assistance.
Anyone who chooses to be a part of the Panhandle Furs group agrees to indemnify and hold harmless Panhandle Furs and its owners from any claim for personal injuries or other damages or equity arising out of any individual's activities during Panhandle Furs events, even if such injury or damage is caused by negligence by or on the part of Panhandle Furs.
As a condition of membership in the group, all Panhandle Furs members are required to abide by these standards of conduct for the entire duration of their time in the group, especially at during events or meetups, whether these are at a public venue or in a private home.
General Rating of the Events/Meetups
All events are considered to be "PG" at all times, with the exception of events or exhibits that are specifically noted to be inappropriate for minors (ie bars or R movie events). However, please do not bring children (under the age of 13 for these purposes), younger siblings, etc to any events without asking permission from the event’s host first. All minors under 13 require parent supervision at all times. Anyone providing false documentation of identity or age will be denied membership and reported to the police.
If an event is taking place at a restaurant/bowling alley/etc, anyone who wishes to attend must purchase food/bowl etc. (not just water). Also please help contribute to the tip, as we are a large and overwhelming group so we need to be courteous to our servers!
Group members, when in public areas, may not wear clothing which is overly revealing or inappropriate to the atmosphere of the event, such as fetish-related garb and accoutrements. Collars are acceptable and are worn by numerous attendees as a fashion statement, but leashes attached thereunto are not. Please respect the event location’s rules on proper attire and dress accordingly, whether is be a bowling alley, public beach, or private residence. If you have concerns about proper attire, please ask the event host.
Full-body fursuits are excluded from the "shirts/pants/footwear" rule, provided that the costume is not unacceptably revealing. Certain accoutrements such as leashes may be included as part of a costume at the discretion of the event host and business/homeowner. We all know about the negative connotation of fursuiters (thank you CSI), so lets try to change that opinion and act accordingly. Fursuits that are mature or adult in nature are not permitted at meetups under any circumstances. “Scary” fursuits may be permitted at some events, so please ask the event host if you are not sure.
Public displays of affection beyond what is appropriate for polite company are frowned upon. You will be asked to express your devotion to your significant other either in less conspicuous ways, or in private.
Public Decorum
Please be respectful of the event location/venue, and act accordingly. Treat the venue like or better than you would your own home. If someone is causing trouble at an event, the event host is responsible for taking appropriate action. If a person continues to cause problems on three separate occasions, they will be "banned" from local events. Banned List
Panhandle Furs events and meetups are open to the group members and friends, provided they RSVP with the event hosts prior to the event. If a person does not RSVP, they may not be able to join the group during the event and could be asked to leave.
At any Panhandle Furs event/meetup, everyone must abide by all local, state and federal laws. This means that things like underage drinking/underage smoking/drugs are unacceptable! We have many members of the group under 21 and even under 18, so please keep that in mind. Underage drinking, among other illegal things, can get not only the people involved in serious trouble, it could also potentially harm the business/homeowner and cause our group to become banned from that location. In short, DON’T DO IT.
Other Event Matters
Any act of vandalism, deliberate or excessive damage to event location/venue property, or interference with any event venue worker in the performance of his or her duties will result in a permanent ban from events and the group, criminal prosecution, fines, or any combination thereof.
Harassment of any kind, including physical assault, battery, deliberate intimidation, stalking, or unwelcome physical attentions, will not be tolerated. If people tell you "no" or to leave them alone, your business with them is done. If you continue to attempt to have contact with those people, you may be removed from the premises.
Panhandle Furs is not responsible for solving any interpersonal problems that may arise between individual members. In general, we can take no action to prevent a person from attending the events unless that person has made a specific and credible threat toward the event itself or if another individual can produce a legal restraining order. This group is a DRAMA FREE ZONE.
The owners of "Panhandle Furs" hold no responsibility of the nature of the events on the calendar, nor are the owners responsible for the actions of the people of these events.
Panhandle Furs reserves the right to decide to not post to the calender/be associated with any event for any reason, including things that would conflict with the rules posted above or would harm the good reputation of Panhandle Furs' and that of the general furry fandom.
Please be reminded that these rules involve, of course, "worst-case" scenarios and are put into place to ensure the safety and comfort of our members. They are also not all-inclusive; in all cases, the singular rule that supersedes all others is, "Any action or behavior that causes significant interference with meetup operations, excessive discomfort to other attendees, or adversely affects Panhandle Furs' relationship with its members, its event location, or the public is strictly forbidden and may result in permanent banning from events. You are responsible for maintaining mature conduct at events, so be mindful of how you are acting." We anticipate no difficulties, as our members as a whole are rational and responsible adults. Have fun - just please remember to be courteous of those around you while doing so!
-If you want to submit an event to be put in the event calendar journal, please send a note titled "Event" with the following:
1. Submit your event by the midnight before the new calender goes up (the beginning of each month)
3a. Name of the event, Date, Time, Location, Price range, Host's contact (i.e. email, FA, etc.)
3b. If you want your event to require an RSVP, let us know and we will simply include the date and event title with your contact information so attendees must contact you for the rest of the details.
4. Age Appropriateness (Everyone, 16+, 18+, 21+)
5. Level of Furrydom (Fursuits allowed, tails allowed, no furry paraphernalia)
