A little concern with my next upload

Hey guys, hope you're all well and that you had a good New Year and all :)
Right then, to the point of this journal. Who remembers this set of sketches? Well okay, not the full set since I never uploaded it. Basically at the start of 2007 I drew Fran every day for a week, drawing at least one page of sketches a day.
I've done the same thing again this year since I figured I should make it an annual thing (or at least a regular thing), this time with my character Leilani - found here and here.
Now here's the concern: while just about all of the sketches are in character, I'm a bit worried that some of the images might be pushing the fan service themes a bit far. Looking at them, they're overall not that bad or that different to what I usually post. The difference probably comes from them being in such large quantities at once and the content in general. It's making me rather self conscious and concerned about how people would react to it.
I'll most likely be posting them all anyway, since as I said, it's in character for her (for the most part) and I've less problem uploading them than the Fran set from last year. I guess the majority probably wouldn't mind since it's still 11 pages of fan service/character sketches (even if they're all human, like that should matter). I suppose it's just my own sense of what I should and should not post online is becoming blurred slightly since I like people to see what I draw.
Upon reading that last line, please remember: I'm still not gonna post any porn up here so don't get yer hopes up =p

Heck, I was gonna upload them anyway, why turn back now?
I just wish I picked a better one than the ones I use ^^'
After all, I, personally, would rather have 12 images of varying qualities than forty journals all propagating some stupid sex meme or whatever. :)
If it makes you feel any better you could post a drawing of Fran wearing baggy clothes, or a moo moo or a potato sack that covers up everything and it would still probably get a million and one views! ;)
I've not actually been pressured at all into drawing/posting anything I didn't want to. Heck I'd just ignore those that told me to. I'm just second guessing myself really.
i mean, i had someone from DA asking me to cut down on the amount of sexy stuff i put in my gallery my stuff is mild compared to what i've seen on DA, most of my work on there is cute :3
But hun, you shouldn't need to feel worried about uploading those type of pictures on this site (i think that's what's missing from this site- it's all just sex sex and more sex on FA)
Actually I once had to reason with someone who didn't look at the pic/description properly and thought I was posting porn. Quite a shock, but I straightened that out. Turns out that the girl was wearing pink panties and they didn't full view, so thought the area was bare.
Anyway, the more I look at the sketches the more I feel okay with it. It's still there in the back of my mind of course.
DX yuck! that's just plain wrong, i dunno how some of this stuff gets past the DA Admins
someone thought you had posted porn?!?!.... my goodness, that's the most ridicilious thing i've ever heard... i've looked through your whole gallery on DA and your stuff is not only beautifully drawn and presented, but i cant really picture you the type of person to put up 18+ work ^^'
Anyhow, take your time and you can come up with your descision on whether to post up the pictures or not, but i don't think you need to worry about it ;)
And yeah, it was weird having someone accuse me of that. Shows what happens when one simply doesn't LOOK first though =p I'm unlikely to post anything like that for all sorts of reasons.
I'll probably post some of those sketches. I already spent the time grouping them into the different days I drew them on, may as well post something from it. *shrugs*
my guess that it was probably one of those 'troll' account *shrugs* i dunno
Nude shots and cosplay poses are not considered porn or even near porn for me. Porn is when 'things' start to interact with said character or character interacts with said 'thing'
X3 if your worried about ether making a standard of raunchiness that might hurt your online reputation [coz OMG employers now goggle all their employees names through the net for smut/questionable material] then simply don't post the stuff in question. If you’re unsure, don't post. If you want to entertain your adoring fans with the lovely and cute pics you do. Then post them up. ^_^
And frankly. My employers are not furries, they don't like furries. They joke about furries. But I’m still an employee at work whose work and quality of work is respected in contrast to my young employment age. I still go out for beers at the pub with them.
Most employers in the media types have ALL sorts of people. A soft-core loving furry artist is not going to hinder your overall professional presentation. And even if it did. I would dare say that wouldn't be an employer you’re looking to work for. Is isn’t to say this is your concern or issue. I just know for a good handful of furry artists who draw they don’t go into porn for that very reason. They don't want to be typecast into the smut catagory. XD
Nudity and cosplay aren't pornographic as there's still an art or humour to them. Hence "artistic nudity" vs "porn".
The problem is that somewhere in the middle the line can start to blur, usually depending on the opinion of the person in question (me, in this case). I'm not worried about going that far since I know I'm still in the relatively clean zone, but I wonder if some of them have lost the art of humour. I guess I can leave that to be decided though.
There is of course the worry about my online and future reputation. While I don't think this'll hurt it much, I do wonder if something will come back and bite me in the ass at some point. Still, I suppose if my portfolio is good enough and this kind of fan service artwork is kept mostly separate from my other work there should be little problem.
As an aside; I just googled my name and I'm the first result that comes up thanks to my university. Sweet :)
Anyway, I already know how many people don't like furries or the artwork (I still don't consider myself furry though) but if the overall work is good it really shouldn't matter.
Sometimes I tire of fans who only watch for the sexual content, any fan who tells you to upload adult images is not a true fan.
All in all, if you never draw porn, hell, even if you stopped drawing "fran service", I'd still enjoy your works and so would many others.
Sorry, this post is based off of the last sentence rather than the journal, I hope you don't mind.
As I've stated enough times, I'm not going to upload any porn. There's no need for it, it counters my point in being here, there's little art behind it, and it could hurt my reputation. Nobody's asked me in any seriousness to upload any so I'm glad for that. Pretty much everyone's understood my view and reasoning behind it.
Darn it, everyone has pretty much said everything...hmm...
Well, there is always this...
One of the reasons why I decided to watch you, because your artwork makes me laugh (in a good way). Your style really helps to add to comical sketches and drawings you do. Also, you were one of the few artists I found that does not draw large amounts of porn. I seen some some very good artists that pratically nothing, but porn. An me....well...that is just not the kind of artwork I am looking for.
Heh, I don't draw porn ^^' Point taken though, there is often way too much of it in people's galleries. Good to know that my art makes you laugh though :)
Although a separate account (that you tell us about only once in your journal) their is no substitute for keeping yourself anonymous. If this account that you are using isn't tied to your real name, you have nothing to fear. BTW, in order to maximize your personal security and privacy, don't post anything here that you would show your employer. Any portfolio image you show them could be cross referenced to this account, thus exposing you.
Well I'm not so worried that I'll need to make another account to completely disassociate my name from the mature art - this pretty much is my alternate account for this stuff. That is still a good point though. My name actually is on most of the images thmeselves but not on my page, and any mature art is marked as such. The point about it not being searchable on Google or Yahoo is actually kinda reassuring, even if they nothing too bad.
On another note I suppose my problem is that I like to show the range of my skills. On this site that means showing that I do draw more than just fan service etc. and am fully capable of more complex images and paintings if I need to do them. While they may not be portfolio pieces for the most part, there's a chance that at some point one of them will be. I'll have to keep that in mind for future reference. There's also the fact that by now my characters are probably pretty recognisable (not meaning to sound egotistical or anything, but I have to be realistic about this). Even if I had an annonymous account I'm sure I'd be recognised soon enough.
I suppose overall it's just a choice I've made to have the account here and I'll just have to deal with anything that comes up from it. It's separate from my other accounts anyway, and half the stuff that's here isn't posted anywhere else.
