Recently, I haven't had any hours at work, and we're kind of scraping by. The mice ate our sandwich bread, our fridge and pantry are bare, and all we had for dinner was Kroger Pizza Bites. I don't know about you, but I'm used to something resembling a home-cooked meal.
In light of our financial crisis, and since the album is almost done, I've decided to open for commissions.
I did a lot of research on the subject, and as it turns out, a professional musician charges around$1500 minimum for each minute of music composed on commission. Well, I'm not "professional," and you aren't a Hollywood film studio.
I checked out the only other musician in the fandom I know that takes commissions, and he charges $100 starting price for character theme songs. I figure since I'm a bit lower prestige and I can't provide sheet music, I'd cut my price in half.
So, here's the details.
$50 base commission price
base commission includes:
up to 2 minutes of recorded music
basic instrumentation
quality mix and master
license to use the song in non-commercial interests (I'm a BMI musician)
price may go up for things such as:
lyrics
vocals
guest musicians
extra length
complexity of composition

Now, for some people, this is going to seem completely unreasonable, but I assure you, the time and effort that goes into not only recording, but COMPOSING a custom song to YOUR specifications warrants the cost. Plus, producing a quality mix is a bitch.
That said, I may be willing to cut a deal. It depends. Contact me and see!

TO CLARIFY:
the base price covers a completely original piece with basic orchestration (i.e. a string quartet or a rock band). If you just want me to cover a song or perform something you've written, the price would be lower :3
If you just want guitar, you wouldn't be charged for basic orchestration.
if you've written lyrics, I wouldn't charge for that service.
all projects are treated individually, which is why you must contact me for a quote. :3
