Distasteful

I shouldn't be talkin' about taste, what with me bein' myself.
I gotta admit though... sometimes you folks step over the line and I wanna tug on the reins a little bit. Whoa there!

Come on, folks. This isn't high school. This ain't YouTube. This is furaffinity, and folks, there's no need for this kind of harassment. I try my best to be friendly, to show you all a good example of how to behave on a site that's full of wacky people. There are things on this site I find real wacky, but ya don't see ME needing to put other people down to have a good time!
"I would be ashamed showing anyone that house. Not only are you pathetic for being a fursuiter, but for being absolute white trash. I can't believe you would show this to anyone, I really cannot. This is beyond shameless."
I am an honest person when it comes to the crunch, and this sort of behaviour honestly sickens me. There's no excuse for posting the kinds of comments people have been posting on this photo.
"Your powers of self delusion are amazing if you think parent are PROUD of you in anyway while prance around it that tacky getup."
I have so much more respect and sympathy for this fursuiter than any of you who have commented on this entry.
EDIT: I wanna be fair to the people who didn't cross the line, IMHO. If you're commenting on something that's silly with a remark like "This is wonderful!" then that's awesome! If you think I'm talking about you in this post, send me a note or an IM or something because I want to make sure people aren't unduly upset by my outburst here! We gotta keep the energy positive, unlike what I just did with this post. :P

I dunno! It's irritating isn't it. The worst part is that I don't care enough to really try anymore. It's nice to see that you still have that sort of hope though.
Of course, there are always those unexpected things that arise, that I could have never told somebody what to do or not to do, such as the student yesterday who tied his shoelaces to a chair. That's what makes teaching worthwhile!
But, sadly, I believe you haven't addressed the most distasteful part of it--and that's the user who made an avatar icon out of the mother's picture. : (
I just mean that...well, I'm not exactly sure where the "line" is, but I would think that making an animated avatar out of someone's mother after having him endure such negativity is soundly on the wrong side of it!
*gets spammed and hacked for this post*
A friend of mine got called fat by some lady on the street. Maybe she should have stayed inside, or maybe she should spend hours a day at the gym, I mean she looks at herself in the mirror and thinks worse things of herself than I ever have, we all do that! She should have EXPECTED it, going out in public... or maybe that lady should have been less of a douchebag.
See my point?
In this instance I do agree that folks were a bit harsh, just something to think about in general.
Okay sorry end rant. ;>
Thank you for this remark. You've managed to put into a single sentence a concept I have tried to get across to so many people like those giving that guy such grief.
Would you mind terribly if I stole that quote for future use? :3
What's with those complaints about the house, anyway? I've lived in places less nice. =P
P.S: Your avatar is indeed creepy enough.
Handling was delayed a day or so thanks to that other recent 'drama'. I asked again earlier and know that's now being chased up, albeit comments which probably should've been deleted are still there. :/
I'll give another nudge when the admin handling comes back from a short break to RL.
d.
This is, unfortunately, a guaranteed method of quadrupling the trolling
See, it is a wonderfully ridiculous picture! Absolutely delightful in every way! But like, out come the douchewads to go UGH YOU FUCKING SUCK LULZ TEH FAIL GO TO JAIL FURFAG or whatnot. Listen, is that picture funny? Fuck yes it is hilairous and wonderful. Does that picture show that the dude in it is a jerk? Absolutely not. It's silly, but not "morally wrong" or whatever. It's just a dude being himself! He's not like fucking a dog or killing a dude, he's just hanging out with his parents! What's the problem with that?
One comment I saw was all UGH YOUR DELUSIONS OF GRANDEUR, which like what? The dude's just fucking in his parents house taking a picture with them, what's the big deal? HOW DOES LOOKING DOPEY MAKE YOU A BAD HUMAN BEING? (it doesn't)
There are not enough people expressing this sentiment. It is, sadly, usually considered that people with maturity will simply ignore or overlook that sort of behavior. As if the only people who would truly object to that sort of thing are the ones who are just "too sensitive."
FA was made for a specific purpose, for a specific interest group. That purpose and focus is being overshadowed more and more by the 'just here for the lulz' attitude, and the simple unfortunate truth is that the administration does not recognize the extent to which the tolerance of that attitude is something that this site's true community really doesn't want to have to put up with.
When it comes right down to it, there are people who are here for the purposes the site was meant for, and then there are people here for purposes outside of that focus. Those people are given "fair consideration" due to an admittedly noble intent, but the amount of tolerance and acceptance of people using the site for a lulzfest or snark board is unfairly dismissive of the people who just wish they could have what the site was supposed to be - a place for Furries (and those with an affinity for us) to just post our art freely without hassling others or being hassled ourselves.
The problem is that people don't speak up to the Administration as properly as you do here. The sentiment that the behavior on that submission is not welcome in this community is one that more users need to stand up and state clearly to the administration.
Because most of what they tend to hear comes from the vocal supporters of the "freedom" to allow what happened to that user.
I have no patience for bullies, though.
It's SO easy to talk shit to someone when they're 2000 miles away and they don't know who you are. It would have been a totally different story if any shit talker was in the same room with the person being shit talked. It's pretty sad to clown on a total social outcast. It's pretty sad to clown on someone who lacks the facility to backtalk. It's also pretty sad that someone needs to be anonymous before they can go talk shit to someone. But it's really fucking pathetic to go find the meekest of geeks and remotely and anonymously talk shit to them, knowing that nothing is going to be dished back at them.
I once knew a crew of people that does this sort of stuff all the time. I grew disenchanted, and ultimately I disassociated myself from them. I'm just not down with this sort of behavior.
