Come, Little Pip
Okay, I loved Pipsqueak the Pirate.
To those who have asked: I severely doubt any of the writers read fan-fics. (It's the same reason I don't read FOE side stories and won't until FOE itself is completed.) OTOH, the idea that the writers who are clearly paying attention to the brony community have never heard of Littlepip seems just as unlikely. So while the "Come, Little Pip" was clearly a Charles Dickens' reference, I wouldn't be surprised if it was also a subtle shout-out to Fallout: Equestria. In fact, a double-reference (and the deniability it would allow) would probably be the only way they could get away with a wink to FOE, especially considering the multiple IP nature of Fallout: Equestria.
That aside, it thrills me to no end that Fallout: Equestria continues to be canon-compliant. This new episode had the capacity to "invalidate" so many fanfics, and yet it makes a lot of things in FOE (like zebra magical alchemy, high-seas piracy and voice-amplifying magic) more appropriate rather than less.
Mostly, though, I just got a kick out of the new colt. I hope we see him again. And I love what they've done with naturally-gothic Luna.

FA+

I can actually understand that.
but a word of advice from a fan: consider reading FOE: Project Horizons as the first side story. It's not as big a tear-jerker as your work is, but its the closest yet. also the biggest.
...heck, I haven't really read anything other than horizons and your original. (mainly because, as sethisto pointed out with all the side stories, then they aren't screened for quality control)
The only drawback is the author isn't a native English speaker so the writing stumbles a bit sometimes, but it's becoming less common and there are editors going through and cleaning up the rough spots and he seems happy to get suggestions for changes to the text.

Shown to you just because it's funny, and fits with the topic of your post (the validation idea, not the Little Pip/Pipsqueak reference).
I wouldn't mind my nightmares to look like that, though.
It was interesting to see how so many fics and fan-canon could take a blow to this episode. Something I didn't expect however, was the canon multicoloured coat. That was a bit of surprise tbh. Ditzy derping it on made me smile a bit thou. She's really become a sort of"Waldo". Just more exposed.
"I think she should be like Harpo Marx--- expressive and funny, but never says a word."
Also the instant I heard it, I thought of you. Man, if that was a double reference, haha, wow.
Yeah, this will actually make it easier for a lot of writers. Meanwhile, I wait with baited breath for each new episode, wondering if the next is the episode where FOE stops being canon-compliant.
Goth Luna is the best Luna.
Knowing this show, however, you're absolutely right to be anxious.
There is also a link to it in my submission "Fallout:Equestria Forgotten Light" if you need it.
