Folix - Artist/Commission Feedback Page

This page gives artists and others that had been commissioned in the past by me to present feedback on their dealings with me.
My goal is to use you all as references when I go and commission new art.
From my past commissions, I know that there is a big fear that an artist will feel that they won't get paid after completing some work. For some new artists that haven't dealt with me before, I attempt to meet the artist half way. Like pay half of the picture off and the rest upon notification of completion. Within 48 hours of notification they are paid, average is less then 2 hours. For most, I always make sure the artist is paid in a timely manner.
When commissioning a new artist, I feel that it would give the artist confidence that they won't be taken when they are able to review feedback from other artists that have worked with me on commissions.
Some questions you might want to answer in your feedback if your looking for ideas:
- General experiences with working with me.
- Did you feel my picture requirements were fair? Did I give enough artistic freedom?
- How did we work out payments? Do you feel that my policy on payments are fair?
- Did you receive payment within 48 hours of completion (for pay on completion type)
- Do you find me trustworthy? Are you worried that I won't pay you when your art is complete?
- Do you like my recommission policy?
- Thoughts on dynamic pay system with requesting an increase in payment.

<b>Creative Process:</b> Folix is one of the rare buyers that is looking for art rather than an illustration. Almost every detail is is left to the artist, who can use everything possible to create that breathtaking emotional punch that art is supposed to be. It isn't just something to look at, it's something to think about. I feel that Folix respects that.
<b>Payment:</b> We've never had any payment problems, even when the amount isn't settled beforehand. He's trustworthy for post-pay. I would vouch for him.
Gave a lot of artistic freedom, easy to work with.
Seriously great at being a return customer.
Character is simple and fun to draw.

i was i will say concerned at first doing the payment policy, but i felt very happy with the upfront payment and felt that no one has yet to earn my mistrust and this lion seems reliable (i looked over gallery pictures and saw a few recommissioned artists which lead me to belive hes a trustworthy and fair commissioner) when i finished the picture he asked what i thought it was worth and i told him there was no haggling (as to which im greatful i hate talking money) i feel both happy and fulfilled with this picture and im happy i got the oportunity to add it to my portfolio.

He is allows the author is free to fantasize on his character. it is important to Him, what you are getting a real pleasure when you are painting as you want.
No trouble with payment!
It was a good time working with him. And I think it's not my last work with him.

- How did we work out payments? Do you feel that my policy on payments are fair? Oh yeah Folix was great, i gave him my price and he had no qualms, verye asy to work with.
- Did you receive payment within 48 hours of completion (for pay on completion type) More like within 3 hours XD very speedy efficient payment
- Do you find me trustworthy? Are you worried that I won't pay you when your art is complete?No i had no worries, i usually never have problems with people paying me anyway.
- General experiences with working with me: Actually I knew Folix from time back, added on msn but never had a commission from him until now, he's a good client with fair requirements, open to discuss picture modification and honest to comment the picture. I had no problem with him.
- Did you feel my picture requirements were fair? Did I give enough artistic freedom?: Completely fair. He paid to get -a piece of art- so he has the right to get -a piece of art- with the quality he paid for.
- How did we work out payments? Do you feel that my policy on payments are fair?: Indeed, he paid me at the very beginning of the commission, no problems at all.
- Did you receive payment within 48 hours of completion (for pay on completion type): I received payment at the start of the commission since I asked for it.
- Do you find me trustworthy? Are you worried that I won't pay you when your art is complete?: Not worried at all, a good client with good attitude and he didn't do anything wrong, all good.

BUT in general,
I really enjoyed working with Folix. I've worked on two pieces for him so far, and both were quite enjoyable experiences. Never had problems.

Folix pretty much gave me all the artistic freedom in the world, which was very nice because it gives me more inspiration and motivation to work on it. He also gave advice an critics when needed.

Very fair. He always paid so far and everything went smoothly.

Yes.
- Do you find me trustworthy? Are you worried that I won't pay you when your art is complete?
Yes I find Folix trustworthy. I usually let clients pay before I start, but all the other commissions in his gallerly made me feel like I could trust him. When I had to work with him the second time I wasn't worried at all.

The freedom of the artist may run the risk of drawing go out like the original idea of the commissioner, at least Felix left me some suggestions from base for draw it.

Wait a payment after finish is always very risky, you never know if the commissioner is an opportunist, is going to get sick, have an accident and never get the payment. Luckly Folix is trustworthy and I got the his money.

Yes! Very fast!

Yeah, I have lately made free commissions (not his fault, they promise to pay me someday), I even thought to require prepayment of new commissions.
- Do you like my recommission policy?
I think that is good for commissioners, but bad for artists. But thanks to this journal artist can see that you are trustworthy.

Side note, he also helped me improve my TOS so that's a plus. He's probably the first person who actually read it. :P
