She enjoys portraying herself as a half-aware and dimwitted beast, drunken in the stupor of her own bodily composure.~ We Were Just Kids... ~This is the name of a [possible] future story I'd like to write. It would center mainly around some of the youngest of my characters, Akira, Katherine, Nigel, Sheryl, and possibly the other youngest of my characters, Slade, Shila, Alma, Punk, Ryan, and maybe Lucia (Lucia isn't 'within the circle of friendship' like the others are, because she's not exactly a friendly character - not exactly a 'good guy' character).
I've got it in mind to make it a self-insertion story that stems from the perspective of Sheryl. Although I'm also considering that Katherine would be the narrator, I'm kind of decided against that idea since Katherine isn't as thoughtful as Sheryl.
This whole idea is still sketchy, and far from 'developed' in the slightest. I have it in mind to imply that it would pertain to something about my angelic character named "Bale" ("The Baleful Angel of Sorrow"), and that it would expound upon his origin story (I generally want all of my angelic characters to have an origin story). It would revolve around something disturbingly implying - something bad that happened that my youngest characters could never forget.
One of the [two] inspirations that this idea comes from is kind of akward. The first (and foremost) inspiration for it comes from something about my own life that I remember seeing (I have a photographic memory): Trees and fall season leaves on the ground, and a small playground. It's something I remember seeing back when I was first hospitalized after I had a mental breakdown - I was standing there, looking around, and there were fall leaves everywhere (the leaves in the area needed to be raked up). And there were other kids standing there with me, and one of them was a girl who was wearing a jacket/coat (it wasn't very chilly outside IMO). I don't remember why we were out there. It was about something that the hospital staff wanted to do with us, to help us get back to our proper mental health (there were other things they had us do too, to see how we functioned on our meds).
The funny thing about this idea is that I have it in mind that it would pertain to a more modern setting. I have a funny stylistic idea in mind that if I were to write any OTHER stories besides "Parasympathy," they would still include the SAME characters that I have now, regardless of the setting and timeframe, etc. It would be like a "Final Fantasy" effect - different world, same staples, where in this case the CHARACTERS would be the staples. In this modern setting, the young characters would be wearing more 'modern outfits,' like jeans and maybe some coats. This notion is akward because my Parasympathy story revolves around moreso "olden times" themes for its overall setting, instead of a world full of large corporate buildings and high technology.
Whatever the timeframe of this story idea (and the modern one oddly seems to fit most to me), the young characters would be standing around something in a circle (or not. It's very sketchy). Something very disturbing would be happening before them, maybe in reference to something that the nine of them shouldn't have been involved with. Sheryl would narrate in a way that expressed regret over what had happened, or what everyone had noticed. The event would've had to have been something dauntingly significant enough to warrent her reminiscence over it. The event would've taken place in a place with many fall leaves.
Anyway, one very big inspiration for this idea is this tune:
The level of this game that had this music playing for it featured many fall leaves and greenery. It reminds me of the day I was standing in that place at that hospital, surrounded by many fall leaves and greenery, so this provokes me to thought about that memory of mine.
Also, I really, really love this tune. Best one on the "Scott Pilgrim vs The World - The Game" OST IMHO.
