Retrospection and future intentions

Real life
Ah, the year 2011... It could almost be considered a special year if only for the fact that I accomplished nothing of importance during it. During the day I worked and during the evening I have just been keeping myself busy, be it with WoW, minecraft or some other random thing that caught my attention. All things considering, I really existed more than I lived last year, and well... I'm not quite happy with that.
So let's have a look at all the things I haven't done, yet really need to start doing in the coming year.
First and foremost, I should have long since moved into my new house. But as with all things I just kept postponing stuff and before I knew it, the year was over. Well, I don't think there'll be much risk of me doing that again this year, cause I suspect I'll be kicked out forcefully if I don't get moving soon. Just need to find a nice floor for my livingroom and get a working internet connection and I should be set. And who knows... with a bit of luck, the act of moving out should upset my current habits enough to allow me to mould them into something a bit more productive and fun.
As for the fun habit: Over the last year I've only really seen my friends maybe half a dozen times. In part because we're spread out all over the country by now and in part because the opportunity just didn't arise. With a place of my own, I could host the occasional game-night, where those that want to attend can come play Carcassonne, Machiavelli or some other game. Should be good fun, I'd think.
As for the productive habit: At the moment, when I feel like arting (no, there's no f in front of that), I have to clear a spot somewhere or dig out my makeshift lightbox. With all the extra space I'll be having, I might be able to get me a nice drawingtable with a built-in lightbox. A bit more comfort while inking would certainly be a welcome change, as that's where I tend to get stuck at the moment.
Bottled Indigo
Several months ago now, Caldaq asked me whether I was going to do something with my Bottled Indigo site. The short answer is: "yes, I intend to". I think it's only fair that I go into a bit more detail though.
Much has changed since the days I made my three flash games (Penzle, MagBall, and Rock, Paper and Scissors) and a java game (Esagashi). Browsers in general have become more powerful and HTML5 is bringing some interesting new technologies to the table with which I'd like to experiment. As such, I have the intention of trying my hand at a few browser-based games, among which a rewrite of Esagashi. For now, that's all the detail I have, but I'll be sure to keep you all up to date once I get to work on this.
Additionally, I still have some old Furcadia dreams lying around that deserve a spot on the website. I'll have to get to work on cleaning up those dreams first though, so this currently has rather low priority. Most interesting dream among those is a Reversi implementation with computer-player. It won't beat good players, but it should fair well enough against beginners.
Artwork
I've been slacking so badly it's just not funny anymore. And to think drawing is actually something I greatly enjoy. Suffice to say that I will be trying to get rid of my backlog this year, as well as draw some new stuff as well. Now I've said this before, but this time I've devised a plan so clever, so devious (not even convincing myself here)... I intend to do a weekly post with a list of things I'll be doing in that week. That way I can keep track of my own progress and hopefully get myself into a slightly better routine. I'm going to try to be as specific as possible, but odds are I'll still have either/or things on that list (I can never quite predict what I'm in the mood for). Expect the first list in the next journal post.
