~ BEGIN ~ so I walked into work today and I got my two week notice....
Seems like that big fucking raise the management/ownership here back in the summer is catching up, so now they are cutting back on the office staff. So since I am the lowest man on the totem pole, I get axed.
You have NO FUCKING IDEA how much this hurts. It has just been one of those days too... Woke up at 6am (when I normally go to be) so I have no sleep today, couldn't get back to sleep... my thumbdrive fried, it had some important files on it, but I think I have a back up everything still. Was nearly on 3 accidents on the way to work... got in early to find that I am out of here, being replaced by the drunk of the property owner who drives all the truckdrivers insane because he has had one to may brain cells fried.
People here seem to think I will be back in a couple of months, but fuck... it seems everytime I make plans for me to have a bit of fun or get my finances in order, I loose my job and I have to start over again. So I am pissed off and I want to cry... So now I am in doubt for VancouFur, RIGHT AFTER I book a hotel room.

Its like trying to stay dry in a rain storm.. You can put on your rainboots and slicker and poncho and stand under an umbrella, but eventually you will get wet. People just don't understand that.

At least you have two weeks. Ask the office folks for sterling references, and immediately go sign up with several temp agencies in your area.
You don't want to be out of work too long, and the sooner you make arrangements with the State to draw unemployment, the better.
Definitely the time to act ASAP. Stay positive.
last time I was out of work, it was 2 years... :( I am VERY BAD... VERY VERY VERY BAD for finding work. but I guess I will start looking tomorrow.

I am fat and slow, I have not been in any type of physical shape since probably the early 2000s, I suffer from sleeping disorders so I am often feeling drained to boot. I am not the most pretty person to look upon, so my natural repulsion does not help matters... But the BIGGEST stumbling block I have to deal with in looking for a new job is that I just hate myself and see myself as a giant worthless sack of crap that would be better off dead than going on sucking on the air that normal people breath...
Its always a case of two steps forwards, fall over and slide back to start...

I'd suggest you try signing up with some temp work agencies. They do the work of finding the jobs for you. It's often unpleasant, repetitive, low-paying work, but at least it's something.
