Puppy Charity Drive (please help if you can)

Photos to come.
Okay so, my husband and I are the types of people who watch Animal Rescue (etc) and cry our eyes out when we see the sick and suffering animals that are rescued, doubly so if said animal doesn't survive to be adopted to a nice home.
So this is how we've ended up with 11week old (estimated) Pestilence. We THINK he's a lab, we won't know until his fur grows back. We will rename him later... receptionists at the vet center took the joke a little seriously when they asked what his name was.
Basically, my husband saw him limping and sniffing around the train tracks on the way to work and called me to go rescue him.
We were initially just going to take him to a pound where he'd obviously be put down immediately (the SPCA in the area doesn't take in injured animals)... but that little face full of hope just broke my heart at the thought.... so we took him to the vet to see how bad along he was.
According to the vet, Pestilence has: Scabies, ticks and worms. The reason he limps and has oddly shaped legs and paws is because he's been kept in a confined space since he was born (most likely, which pisses me off) and hasn't had the oppurtunity to develop his leg muscles properly. As long as we get him into some supportive bandages that problem should fix itself... once the scabies and worms are sorted out we'll walk him as well. So the vet thinks his chances of survival are pretty good...
A quick trip to Petsmart to get a few puppy essentials and most of a paycheque later...
Pesky has had a bath (it was a bit of a task to stop him from drinking the bath water) and the ticks and scabs are pretty much falling right off him.. instead of smelling like an unkept kennel he just smells like wet dog.
Anyway, hubby and myself are on limited funds right now... once Pestilence is looking a bit prettier and stronger we'll likely take him to the SPCA to be put up for adoption (assuming we haven't gotten more attached -.-; ).
Still, there's a few other vet stops he'll need (the usual vaccinations and a few follow ups to today), as well as food (Sable's food budget is supplied by hubby's sister and she's not going to extend it for puppy food).
Hubby is trying to work out some sort of fundraiser to associate with Pesky, but if you're able and don't want to wait, please note if you're interested in donating some money. Or if you'd like something back you can go to http://www.jabarchives.com/cart and go to my section and pick up some products; as soon as that money gets to me it'll go towards puppy care.
Any help would be much appreciated, and any sympathy will be passed on to Pesky, he likes when people pay attention to him, heh. He's a very friendly puppy, who has just started teething and wants to do all the usual puppy things but has some difficulty doing so right now.
On a side note, because of the way his fur has been falling off, he's sporting a really kicking mohawk. Personally, I prefer my puppies to be more fur than scabs though.
Once we find my hubby's sister's digital camera we'll take some photos, since the cameras on our cellphones suck.
Thanks for reading, now I should really go burn this towel.
