So i've heard, yus! :D I am really very excited to see and hear about your experiences with that; Oz actually approached me about having two of my characters made into inflatable suits, and although i'm very likely to go ahead with it, I would like some reassurance that he can achieve the result that I want. I have to say, his recent creations (especially the cow! OMG <3 ) make me very excited about the possibilities! :)

Well we'll see how mine goes then! I'm a little worried too, but I've only been dreaming too long for this! Even if it's not so good. I can always save up and try again. =Op

I'm surprised they aren't already well known as rip offs already, they stole a whole lot of drgnalexia's work and slapped their watermark on it before spamming it all over Hollowpaws a couple of years ago trying to say that they were suits they'd designed.

I have one question and one question only... Given that I'm assuming you already knew that Latex Catfish/Catfish Latex were unreliable, art thieves, liars and basically rip-off merchants why would you go with them? I still remember when they stole a whole bunch of Alexia's work, put their watermark over it and tried to spam on HollowPaws.

I mean shit, they even stole a certain red capped roo's designs and I was fighting with them about that even though I don't like him, despite that they had no right to steal his shit and when I confronted them about it they freely gave me his name, his address and his contact details and told me to give him a call, I emailed him and he had no idea what the hell was going on.

Bottom line, I wouldn't trust them as far as I could throw them from where I'm sitting here now.

I honestly tried to give them the benefit of the doubt. I know that in China, there is a culture of disregard for copyright and intellectual property (you see this with all sorts of companies, even the ones that make inflatables) - I told myself that Catfish's conduct wasn't entirely their fault, that what they were doing was commonplace in the Chinese business world.

The main reason I went about commissioning them is that Pretty Pervy had already announced that they were closing up shop in the UK, and that Catfish Latex were really the ONLY company that did custom latex work. In addition to that, their prices were so cheap that it seemed like a wasted opportunity not to try my luck with them.

In the end, my optimism was misplaced and I really should have taken my business elsewhere from the start; but hey, you live and learn.

That's all fair enough but let's be honest here, my opinion in the long run of anybody's life doesn't mean anything unless they give it meaning.

Your experience with them on the other hand is another good example of how they mess people around and mine is purely anecdotal and the only evidence that I have that it ever happened in the first place is that I know you know who's first name...

I have to say that I commend and respect your stance with giving them the benefit of the doubt given both your circumstances and your own, most people would have thrown their hands up and walked away... I learned my lessons with LC by trying to stand up for someone whom I don't even like, given past drama with them started by a third party.

I don't want to sound racist but I won't directly deal with China myself given that it is a communist state, the lower QC over there and the just the flat out shiesters, I sell crystals and I keep having people whom don't know what the hell they're talking about how I can get expensive crystals from China for low prices.

My answer to that is to tell them to buy something like Jade or Crystal Quartz and then take it to a jeweler to see what they really bought, crystal quartz is easy to fake and the 'jade' would probably be glass with green opaque dye or glass with a thin coating of plastic over it.

I'm glad that despite all the difficulties you had that you would up happy (and squeaky). Here's hoping your future endeavors will be more pleasant. Still, nice tail, puffyphin!

They stole considerably more designs from Pretty Pervy... but when I commissioned this, they had only copied one or two of those suits.

You should start your own custom latex suits and offer commissions... :< ... Sucks that it went like that for you though. At least you know to stay away in the future and didn't buy something way more expensive...

Oz's company (Squeak Latex) was in its infancy when I started this project; he didn't have many examples of his work to show, and his prices were quite high. His business has really matured over the last year, and i'm really excited about what he can achieve now that he's gotten into the game full-swing. If it had seemed like a viable option at the time, I would have considered commissioning him instead.

As it happens, I might be doing business with him in the near future anyway... ;)

Chances are, it'll be both suits. I have been getting all murry-purry over my cow character again lately, and I don't think I could get a dolphin suit without having her realised as well, hehe :)
