Just use a condom

FINAL EDIT:
Shakko13 has brought to my attention that out mutual friend mentioned the event previoused named as a rough timelines estimate and that nothing actually happened at the event itself. I am extremely sorry for any inconvenience that inaccruate information caused. I was told the wrong thing and for that I apologize. Again Shakko can answer any questions.

I have deleted the info that was here to begin with and have rewritten it entirely. It was suggested that I make a new journal but I felt like deleting the old one seemed like there was something to run away from. But I would like to make some things clear which I apologize for not making clear before.
The original journal was in no way to slander the name of the event that some of the unprotected sex took place at(which was later informed to have not been the place at all). Several people were offended that the place was named, but the name of the event was removed because it bordered FA's harrassment policy.
Shakko13 has come out and very bravely admitted to being the one involved. If you have any questions regarding the event itself you can ask her. However if you have been sexually active EVER without being protected I strongly urge you to get tested.
If you have any other questions it would be best for Shakko13 to answer them herself.
About hidden comments: All comments that had the name of the event where unprotected sexually activity had originally been claimed to have taken place were hidden. If anyone hid their own comments that is up to them. I loathe drama pesonally. I understand that some people who commented on this journal seem to have som conflicting opinions but it's up to them what they post. It's for that very reason I feel no need to post another journal stirring more drama.
The point of all of this is: Be careful. Use a condom. Get tested regularly. It only takes one time to slip up and get HIV. One time with someone you think you trust who turns out to maybe not even know themselves. Protected sex is a serious issue.

I'm sure the con itself was pretty enjoyable and awesome.
Your statement "I am very thankful I didn't go to that con" puzzles me cause if you don't intend to have sex with people at a con then you wouldn't be at risk at ALL.
I've gone to several FCs, Califurs and Anthrocons where there were some STD scares but I still had a blast because I had an enjoyable and responsible con.
If you prefer to be around those who parallel your own ideals, stay home and hide under the covers. If you go to ANY furry convention, you will be around some people who have relatively casual sex with each other. It happens. There is nothing that you or I can do to prevent it from happening. Best thing they can do is play safe and get checked. I'm not playing white knight either, I'm just being honest.

On my last comment, I even blanked out all names of said incident and you still hid it.
gg.
It's no surprised why you so quickly back-tracked on everything you said, ontop of hiding all the comments.
You posted the journal, and cannot handle the flak once people start questioning your information? Maybe you've never gone to college, but if you turn in a paper that doesn't have any factual information (Lol works cited page) you kind of get a failing grade.
Fail. Kind of like this journal.
Please shut up.
People who are sexually active should benefit by getting tested, and should knowingly trust and accept responsibility of people they have sex with.
To be smart about having sex pretty much, wearing a condom and etc etc.
You don't have to defend your friend by not reading anything I've said and trying to insult me btw.
But you just seem like you're on a strict mission to claim this journal as illegitimate when the actual issue being talked about here is a completely serious and legitimate issue. I don't see your reason for stirring up this conflict.
Stating how something can be prevented, and how to get tested and the importance of testing, benefits people who may not know said information.
As heartless as it may sound, just based off how the journal started, and what was said, and what was not known by the OP. Leads me not to believe the story, obviously I'm not going to ask for Proof and would respect those peoples privacy. But what can truly be said to comfort or help those victims?
What helps the discussion, is what I've been slowly talking towards, you know. The whole, practicing safe sex, get tested regularly. If I am typing or talking in a way that sounds like I don't care? That's not the case. But the reason I may sound that way, is because I am questioning everything? And guess what? My questioning has lead the author of the journal to realize it takes months for AIDS to show up, and tons of other things. I am not going to instantly believe something of this serious magnitude, it's stupid to believe anything you see in that regard.
But hey, it's just the internet. People don't need to know that there's reason to believe an HIV-positive person was at a con and was sexually active with some people there. And they certainly don't need to know that it's a good idea to be tested for HIV and other STDs if you are sexually active. No, it's certainly more important that you rip at a person for editing details to ensure the privacy of affected peoples here. How else can you get a nice, false sense of superiority?
Might want to get to bed soon, you said you had work in the morning, right?
It benefits to know everything beforehand ;)
Hiding my posts that talked with the name of said incident, is perfectly fine. Him hiding my comments as being "rude" when I didn't name anything after, is not okay. That's when I truly start getting rude.
But I have work in 5 and a half hours, need to go to bed. Goodnight babe ^.^
I'm not trying to be a dick. This is a serious fucking subject matter, and I don't need people getting childish and upset over my questioning of the journal and it's "SOURCES" or potential information. The reason why I am typing so strict and angry like, is because this isn't a joking matter. If people are truly at risk, then yes, they people need to be fucking informed.
It's why in my hidden comments, I asked the Author of this journal, if her friend had called the people he had had sex with, and told them to pass it on that they are at risk and should be infected.
THAT POST GOT HIDDEN.
I'm glad the journal is promoting information for people to learn about safe sex, and encouraging people to get tested regularly. That is constructive and useful. What the journal was ORIGINAL posted as, WAS NOT. Do you understand me now? And why I am making posts like this?
I'm glad my efforts have changed the journal to hide everything that was slanderous and misleading.
(2) The journal originally started out with names of certain events that had nothing to do with aids.
(3) I commented on this, and argued why this was, in a very critical way.
I am going to bed, I have to be at work at 5:30 am.
If you would like to discuss this further, please note me. I'll either delete all my comments tomorrow, in some realization that arguing over this, at it's current stage, is dumb. (Since we both agree on the same thing, that people learning this kind of information, and getting tested is good)
Because right now, I'm being insulted over the way I am typing this information out, I sound like a heartless douchebag, when I'm trying to be critical and informative.
Nini
If the offending person is JUST finding out then it's different.
I do agree with your decision to censor the names of the people involved, but the event where it happened should probably be made public. It's important to ensure that people know as soon as possible, both for the sake of those who were potentially infected, as well as being a sobering reminder to others that HIV is not just something that other people get.
Play safe, everyone.
If your friend got tested 3 months ago and just got the results back telling them that they're now HIV positive, why did they go have unprotected sex at the convention?
Before the convention, they were worried enough about having HIV that they went and got tested.
Then they went to this convention and had unprotected sex with other people BEFORE they ever even got their HIV test results back. Wtf.
So your friend didn't contract HIV at the convention at all, he/she spread it to others at the convention because they didn't know they were infected.
Well your friend should at lest know whom he/she slept with. Warn -those- people. :V
A big furry sex party. Super smart.
There are multiple methods for testing. The test which requires 3 months is the antibody test, the PCR test is faster and can deliver reliable results, which would've preventing the person's dumb ass behavior from ruining people's lives.
No one associated with the event/fans of the event should take offense to the fact the event's name was shared. It's important information that should be shared to protect other individuals. What if someone was infected here, didn't know, and then infected someone else who then infected others? It's serious, yes, and it shouldn't be taken lightly. I'm a little confused as to how it can be teetering on FA's Harassment Policy (Neer, can you clarify?)
People should know what con it was so they can see if it relates to them or not, or if it relates to someone who happens to be a friend.
Blaming the con itself for an STD scare is stupid because con staff have absolutely NO control over this and whoever is blaming the con for this event is shallow and needs to see this.

Making an allusion to a confession of bestiality in the breadth of a drama-post about the unfortunate acquisition of HIV by a transgender furry.
That's got more modifiers than a six dollar Starbucks drink.
How many more times will the stars align to present you the chance to cough up a statement about animal cock right smack in the middle of the epicness of a dialogue about someone contracting a life-changing disease. Kudos to you, for pouncing that opportunity!
Unless you plan on screen capping these posts and then making them into a collage image of Sea Salt going all Star Trek on physics, morphing his hole around far too much cock, please, stick to drawing.
Care to retort? ;3
You did the internet equivalent.
Also, unsure if you actually those comments actually constitute dogfucking. Sarcasm?
Read, before you draw inane corollaries.
But this isnt funny.
The only zoonosis infection I know of which can be common during outbreaks is brucellosis, other than that, there's no threat of STIs outside of harmful bacteria. I speak of this as a person who handled injured wildlife, it was a covered topic.
mad cow disease? It's a prion based disease, even if you good the meat thoroughly, you'll still suffer the deadly disease after consuming infected meat. The world is a scary place.
A conspiracy theory would be more like "the CIA invented AIDS to kill of homosexuals in the 1980s."
You really need to set some thoughts straight.
If something like this happened at an event I went to, I would want to know... not that I nail people I don't know, but because my friends might.
I'm sorry to say it...
despite the negative situation, I do applaud you for standing up and saying "It was me"
I don't know how or when I got it, precisely. But, as it sits, It's relatively nonpoint.
Bottom line, be smart and get tested. With or without protection.
i dont know what is peoples issue with condoms and stuff, it aint that hard to put one on right before, and i guess i havent seen all of this, but who ever it is that got into this, they are in my thoughts , i wouldnt wish aids/hiv on no one, sorry if i seem off on the topis, i am exhausted, and i am having to keep thinking on keys to hit to make words come out right, im off for now
And what a weird way in which some people reacted to this journal... o_O;
On the other hand, I'm really sorry for all the people who got infected. I hope you guys go and get treatment : (.
"Hay, FYI You might have AIDS. I was going to be useful and point out a specific time/place that someone with a known HIV infection was having unprotected sex, but I am worried that I could offend someone.
Instead, please make sure the entire furry fandom gets tested. I hope you figure it out. "
Great job dude. I'm sure this post will save numerous lives.
Are you fucking kidding me? This is a situation where a life ending illness may have been passed to an unsuspecting person.
If there was ever a time to have a direct, no-bullshit discussion... This would be it.

I'm just glad Shakko13 stepped up so that this is no longer an issue.
No smokin'
And no sharing your nasty shit with people.
YAAAAAAAAAY!!!
