When It Rains
Most of you know about my health problems and my recent hospital stay. Well, the bills have come in. Four of them so far. While Medicare paid "most" of them, I'm still left with well over a thousand to pay myself, and some of these want payment in full, like right now. Of course, they won't get it because I'm broke. I'm always broke near the end of the month, and when do they bill or call? Near the end of the month. I'm currently looking into other options, like Medicaid, but I was told back when I first got approved for Medicare that I can't have Medicaid because I get too much from Social Security. Well, if living in poverty is "too much" then I guess I do. After paying bills, I'm left with less than half of what I get every month, and then most of that goes to pay for groceries, meds, gas, and other things. Tavi does his best to help with commission after commission, even when he has computer problem after computer problem. He's a sweety that way.
On top of all that, today I get a call from the billing department of my old doctor back in GA, saying that I still owe nearly $300 to them and haven't paid. Even though I arranged for monthly payments back in October, but they never sent a bill, or at least I never got one. They won't listen to that though, and just threaten to delete my account with my doctor. So I guess I can't go back there again. Not that I planned to, I just need to find a better doctor here that accepts Medicare. It shouldn't be that hard to do, but it is. It seems like the only doctors that accept Medicare, even when that's all you have, are the ones in clinics. So I guess I'm stuck with what I've got for now. So much for putting the patient first, its all about money to them. Get in, get out, and pay. Its not enough for Medicare or other insurance to pay most of the bill, if you owe them a nickel, they want it and they want it now.
Thankfully, a friend, and a big hearted one at that, made a journal to help me by having others commission him.
dragoan is offering to do commissions, but with sending me the money for it. I hate asking for money, but he volunteered without my asking, and I really appreciate that. You can check out his journal here: http://www.furaffinity.net/journal/3194123/
I'm not going to ask for money, since its such a large amount, and there's just no way I could afford it, even with donations, but every little bit helps. So, if anyone wants to donate to help, you can by clicking this link: https://www.paypal.com/cgi-bin/webs.....ton_id=7005898
If you can't donate or anything, you can spread the word about Dragoan's journal if you want. Also, any commissions from Tavi always help at any time. Thank you all for reading and your help. *HUGS*

I'll post a journal.
Best I can do, I'm sorry.
I really would.
But I can't, sadly.
Whatever happens, pay the most important ones, that have the shortest deadline first.
Then handle the others.
I was able to get a lot of my medical bills from when I had a spinal tumor magically cut by two-thirds just by asking (the hospital was really willing to work with me--doctors, transport, and the various other vultures, not so much).
Anyway, I posted a journal for you, plus I sent a message to Tavi about a commission...
The reason you have trouble with finding a doctor with medicare is because medicare screws stuff up with billing. My mom works as an ambulance biller, and she tells me horror stories all the time about how medicare screws shit up. And, when they do pay out, its the only company that I know that will say "Well, we dont feel your service should cost 50 dollars so we will only pay you 10, and we will only pay 70 percent of that so you get 7 and you can only bill the pt for 10 percent so you will get 8 dollars in the end" Many doctors have been turning down medicare [and as you can guess, it is why healthcare costs are through the roof]
Medicare also has a dick move of saying you arnt covered for different bs reasons. For instance, if you are missing both your legs and have to go to the doctors by wheel chair [mavt] Medicare will say, "Well you dont need to go by wheelchair because you could have walked" Even though a pcs states that you need to go by mavt or ambulance.
TLDR;
Basicly, medicare sucks lol.
as for the bills ;sends hugs; I think there is a law [not sure if its state or federal] that says that a billing company has to accept any kind of payment that you can send. they are not allowed to bill a full amount if that amount is over a certain number. I would call the billing companies up, and explain your situation and tell they that you are willing to make payments.
As for the other doctor, they may or may not send you a bill. Many places require you to do your own math so that they can keep it off the books. So, Long story short, if you make arrangements, pay them. if you have questions, contact the biller.
I wish you luck bro ;hugs again; and make sure you give that special munk of yours extra snuggles tonight for all his help ^^
Back when I first had seizures, I was taken to the hospital in an ambulance and ended up owing several hundred just for the ride. Even the insurance I had working at a HOSPITAL of all places, wouldn't pay much toward that. So I told my room mate, and everyone I have lived with since, that if I have a seizure, do NOT call 911 for an ambulance unless I'm severely hurt and there's no other option. Not saying the ambulance business is wrong, but dang. That's one expensive ride. Even the time when I had a seizure in FRONT of the hospital. All they had to do was take me around back in an ambulance and still charged me like $300 for it.
I tried looking up stuff about medical bills, but I couldn't find anything concrete about it that I could actually use in a phone call or something. I just think its nuts that one would say that you owe so much money, knowing you're on disability and Medicare, thus poor, and expect you to pay it all at once right now. I know my credit was destroyed while waiting on Social Security to make a decision, but that's no reason to demand such things. Can't get blood from a stone and all that.
The thing with my old doctor is that they regularly sent me bills before, and suddenly stopped or they suddenly got lost or something. It would come, state how much left I owe, then have a mailer to send the payment that month, like most places do. So it shouldn't be my fault if they don't come in. Especially since so many bills come in every month, and I had JUST started that payment plan, and we all need to be reminded. That's what bills are for after all.
Thanks *hugs* I will ^^
I would truely love to help you but with losing my job a year ago things are really tight here atm but i will try to get a commission when i can afford it.
