EMERGENCY Cat in serious situation! please read!!
I hate asking for help, but here's the situation... one of my beloved cats, Ginger, somehow found and swallowed some thread. We spent our last 300 dollars last night to take him to an emergency vet, only to find out that all they could do was cut it loose where it was wrapped around his tongue, give him fluids and recommend surgery. As it stands the thread is going through his entire digestive system, it was wrapped around his tongue, and it's sticking out of his butt too.... His intestines are bunched up, and the vet said he only has a tiny chance without surgery....The vet we went to wanted up to 2,000 dollars to do the surgery, but we've been calling every vet within a days drive. we started at 8 AM when they started opening, and we're still calling. so far all we can get is that we should apply for Care Credit, which of course everyone in the house is denied for, and one clinic about 70 miles away that will do the surgery for a amazingly low cost of 400 dollars. Problem is, we don't have 400 dollars...we can make the drive to get him to the clinic, but that's about it. So please...if anyone has a soft spot for a kitty...he's only about a year old..he doesn't deserve this....and I can't get help from anyone..my mom disowned me, and every other relative we have is as broke as we are and/or simply doesn't care about animals. Please help Ginger... if I can just raise the 400 we can get him in surgery and save his life....
my paypal is qisha.s.entarae[at]gmail.com though if anyone wants to donate and has a better idea how to get it to me that would be good too, because paypal takes ages to get the money out....
the short of that all is, I need 400 dollars to save my cat's life...will anyone help? please?...
*goes off to sit with him and hold him and pray while Blue makes more calls*
UPDATE 3-8 11 PM
ok, so we got him in, we managed to convince the vet that wanted 400 dollars for the operation to do it for 200 upfront and 200 later. the trouble here is that we had to take take the 200 out of our rent fund, leaving us to somehow recoup that in time for next month's (april) rent and have no idea where we're gonna get the other 200, which the vet wants to have in about 2 weeks. but at least Ginger is safe now, as far as I can tell. He's been eating a small amount, took his antibiotic drops, and hasn't thrown up. he's also acting more like his old self, walking around a bit, and rubbing against us when we pet him.
now we have to figure out how to recoup the 200 that we took from the rent fund and pay off the other half.. Anything helps, but I wanted to be honest about the situation, let you all know he's not in danger anymore. if anyone still wants to help that would be amazing, because I do have to find the 200 in time for april's rent, and another 200 to pay off the vet, so that we won't be on bad terms with him should another emergency ever arrive, as I'm pretty sure he's the only one in the area with decent prices and willing to work with people.
Thank you to everyone that reposted, and wished my little Ginger well, thank you to
aurianfae for helping out, and thank you in advance to anyone that helps out with getting us back on our financial feet after this crisis. I couldn't watch a sweet loveing innocent kitten sit and die....so when I found a way, I took it, now I just gotta fix the problems I caused by doing that.

Thats not a good situation. When a cat gets twine or ribbon entangled in thier tummy, it HAS to be operated on.
I hope the journal helps!

just remember, that you are doing everything you can, and thats what matters. no matter what the end result is, I am sure your kitty knows you are doing everything possible to help *hugs*
i don't know if i would be able to send any, being the only way would be for my mom to write out a check.....or to just stick the money in an envelope and mail either one.
hate it when this stuff happens, i have the resources to help/fix it, but i can't help in any way......
if anything happens before i'm able to do anything.....i hope you know i cared.....i've been through something similer to this....i've seen one of my cats die due to my dad accidentally running over it.....he could still fit within your hand.....i've found some of my cats floating in the tiny plastic pond we have in the front yard/i've felt the fear of wondering if the next day, you'll wake up/return home to find one of the newborn kittens had died/ got crushed by car/drowned due to being sick/couldn't see due to eyes filling with crud from sinises/and falling into our tiny plastic pond with no chance of excape.....i once had 16 cats ay my house at one time....only 5 remain....so....in a sense....i feel your pain.
i've had situations like this appear in front of me.....and cry because i cannot help even though i really want to!
there are people who have the time and resources to help...just finding those with the generousity to provide is the hard part.....i have those, but lack the ability and means of providing help. (resorses, time, generousity, but not the means of giving the money)
somehow...the money will arrive, either by me or some other method....and i wish that it arrives very soon, so that nice people like you and Scars' problems will finally be over, whatever they may be!
