Welcome to the Journal of OtakuMan24 Game Player. Hope you're ready for rants and ravings on video games and other miscellaneous topics. Okay folks, this is for a good cause so I want eyes focused, ears listening, and attention forward because I want everyone to check this out.
I've been following a rather nice webcomic called "Peter and Company" by FA's own Jon Ponikvar at
peterandcompany that he does with his wife Whitney
catsmeow The comic can be found here at his website:
http://www.peterandcompany.com/
I'd give it a PG rating, possibly PG-13 on occasion, but it's a nice comic with a good story, good characters, and a lot of promise. Anyone can enjoy it, and it's a good read! But just telling you about the comic is not what I'm here for today.
No, I'm here to tell you about the Peter & Company Animated Series that's in the works. Or WILL be in the works, if enough fans and people of interest show their support. Jon's just started a KickStarter today to help fund the creation of an animated pilot that can be shipped around to networks like The Hub, Nickelodeon, Toon Disney, Cartoon Network, etc. for production and distribution.
For more details, here's Jon and Whitney to explain how it works, and give you some more insight into the story:
So here's where you come in!
Jon and Whitney need to get enough pledges to amount to $10,000 to make this pilot happen. They have 60 days to raise that money, and I have no doubt that they can make it if enough people show their support. All you have to do is go to their KickStarter page here:
http://www.kickstarter.com/projects.....animated-pilot
And pledge anywhere between $1 or more to this project. If the project meets its goal, then once the 60 days are up, then Jon and Whitney get the $10,000 needed to make this animated pilot a reality.
Now you may be thinking, "NUTS! I don't get paid until next week! If only I had the money to donate now!" Well that's okay! Whenever you make a pledge using KickStarter, the money you are pledging is not taken out of your bank, credit card, PayPal account, etc. until A) AFTER the 60 day period is over, and B) IF they get enough pledges to meet their $10,000 goal. So if you don't have the money to donate now, that's okay. If you want to save up and have plenty of money for your pledge by the end of the 60 days, that's fine too!
The rewards are really nice, and could even make you a permanent part of his comic, AND the TV series if you pledge enough.
I'm spreading the word because I think that something like this should definitely be made, and I also know first hand that Jon and Whitney are both awesome people. They're easy to talk to, very friendly, and are more than happy to talk to their fans.
Even if you just have $1 to spare, please show your support and pledge to this KickStarter today! Who knows? This may be the start of something big!
