She enjoys portraying herself as a half-aware and dimwitted beast, drunken in the stupor of her own bodily composure.
To put it simply, Nigel has improper affections for his mother. Mostly, this is her fault.
The idea of this is an intermingled one. On one hand, Nigel is observant of the ways of society, and thinks to live as humans do. And on the other hand, he realizes that he himself isn't human. But naturally, he thinks like humans because he is a sentient, two-legged being, who must attend to matters in the same fashion that a human does.
Chanda doesn't think like a human. And she doesn't think like a demi-human. She thinks like an animal. She thinks of herself like a predator with its young does. She doesn't care much for society's laws, even more so since most people are unable to best her in any way. People both fear her kind and revere her kind almost as gods, because her kind are so blessed with indomitable strength and beauty. Many people don't approve of Chanda. Many people hate her. But the vast majority of these people live in fear of her due to their natural inferiority (I have it in mind to detail how she first came to the town that she and Nigel would later live in - it's an integral moment in my story.).
Out of fear, many people worship her. Out of trust, many people peacefully conduct their business when she's around. And from depravity, many people think to offer themselves to her. Life and its concerns are too daunting on some. And in other cases, some have abandoned their own dignity of life to pursue her kind - the dragonborn nepharim. Social instability and insanity drive some people to offer themselves to Chanda as willing sacrifices. Whether in selfishness of desiring a 'favor', or out of mental dysjunction, some people try to stay as close to her as possible. These things may anger her greatly, because sometimes, she neither loves nor tolerates human kind. Some people know this, and yet follow her in masochism, while it causes others to cringe in terror at the deep tone of her voice.
Since she is so pestered, she generally tries to stay away from overly populated areas. And in some cases, she simply does not care who is nearby. And in only the most particularly implying cases, she is willing to accept sacrificial offerings, these 'offerings' often being people who've been cast out from society's shallow acceptance. Willing or not, she dispatches of these outcasts however she deems appropriate (Yes, sometimes she even eats them.).
These powerful aspects, among others, contribute to why Nigel often finds himself worshipping his own mother. But he starts out reluctant to do this; embarrassed. And guilt-ridden about it. But Chanda's particular affections almost destroy this...
Naturally, he starts staying near her, out of adoration of her. Mingled emotions of fear and love twist him in ways that he does not usually percieve beforehand, and his actions leave him terrified. Nigel respects Chanda, and is not ignorant of the distinction between a parent and their child (he often argues with Katherine over that.). But she is overwhemingly affectionate towards him, and in most cases he is left breathless. She has no qualms with publicly treating him in the same ways that a lioness treats her cubs, and she is forthright in this manner. She does not think of Nigel as an upright man...always. She is aware of his role in matters, but not in too deep a measure of detail.
Eventually, Nigel finds himself trying to worship Chanda's body. And after a long while of maturing in his life, his affections for Chanda become second nature, and he becomes just as 'animal' as she is, mostly just when around her. The line between reputable behavior and obscenity is blurred so much until it becomes non-existant. By then, there is no telling what he would willingly do for her.
Blunt explanations
Nigel eventually comes to perform almost any lewd act with Chanda. He would clean her genitals with his tongue. He would feel over her body in any way she liked. He would even make silly attempts to have vaginal sex with her. He would lap his small tongue over her breasts and nipples, or suckle upon her breasts. He would even go as far as to try to kiss her on the mouth. He would worship her paws. He would groom her body. He would try to play with her tongue, or even inside her mouth. It would be a very long time before he would trust her enough to be inside her mouth, because he was traumatized in such a manner, devoured alive, and he did not take it lightly. Also, she would terrify him in acting as though she would eat him - simple play, but terrifying to Nigel, until he trusted her. Also worth noting is that he would fist her, or try to slip his head into her vagina.^^

*: She is not saying anything. It is not a language. It is merely an outlet - no more. But there are those who believe that it is a result of years of mental deterioration. Others, do not know what to make of it. He has outstayed his welcome, and she will kill him. Pray for his soul. Pray...
This brief text is loosely in reference to the mysterious "language" that Chanda spoke in the unfinished story that surrounds her. It is meant to be a brief summary of what that articulation generally is, as opposed to denoting it as a fully featured language. The idea is that any series of forced vocal sounds or unortodox breathing patterns are not a language, but merely an 'outlet' from within the body. They may sound horrible. Or beautiful. It depends on the nature of the execution.
It's a lovely idea I have in mind for when Chanda is either in resentment of someone or something, or simply expressing herself in a profound manner.
