I have been asked several times about the successful and informative Fursuit Panel i hosted at FE this year, if i was going to hold it at other cons. i received alot of good feedback on it, so
simple answer ? Yes.
The basis for this panel is to help you make your suit last longer, look better, and stay in good shape for a long time. Fursuits are a big investment, they are our personalities, who we are, and with a little care and understanding they can last and look good for many, many years. While suits are normally quite durable, many things can damage them easily and permanently, Learning how to prevent much of this can save you alot of repair or replacement costs.
For those who wish to learn tips and techniques on how to maintain and care for your Fursuit, i will be Definitely hosting a detailed " Fursuit Care & Maintenance " Panel at Midwest Fur-fest this year, ( and a good possibility at Anthrocon aswell.
- This panel is about 1 hour to 1 hour and 30 minutes long, and includes a detailed Slide show video, discussions, tips, techniques, etc to help you make your suit last longer, keep cleaner, and care for it for many years.
Topics discussed are:
- wearing your suit at a con ( before and after)
- Storage
- transportation to and from cons ( Car, Bus, and airline methods)
- Things to avoid at conventions
- Do's and dont's of suiting
- Washing and cleaning your suit
- Do's and Dont's of storing your suit

This should almost be mandatory for anyone wearing a Fursuit at a con for the first time. My room mate a few years back baught his first fursuit and brought it to AC without any supplies to care for it during the con. He had no idea what to do but fortunately I had enough extra suit care supplies to help him out.
Also don't let people with blue and red painted arms hug you while you are in a white fursuit. I didn't notice the damage till after I got back to my room but fortunately with proper cleaning was able to remove the stains.
Would love to attend in person but my schedule precludes both cons this year
