Attention all non-player watchers (and players as well)!
With the end of the playoffs upcoming, the time to submit new players for next season is now! If you've been watching the FHL so far, then you're probably up to speed with how it works. If not, let me explain.
The FHL is a hockey league that consists of simulated games between teams of fursonas. All player characters create their players using a system that allows you to designate their players strengths and weaknesses, size and stature, and personalities and history as they see fit. Instructions on how to do so are below. Once all players are created, a season and playoffs are simulated using a complex series of calculations and probabilities. Precise statistics and game outcomes are produced, and at the end of the season, a champion is crowned! You can learn more about the specifics and rules by looking around the FA page, but there you have the gist of it.
Anyone can play, so what are ya waiting for? Get started by following the specific instructions below! Anyone can submit ONE player. We are no longer accepting secondary (non-user) players! We already have entirely too much filler and don't want to water down the league any more, so any players submitted from this point forward must be the creator's only player!.
1. Make sure you're watching this
FHL page.
Everything you need to know will come from the FHL's FA page. So make sure you're getting notifications from here
2. Fill in your player's basic information.
*note: The limitations on Height, Weight, and Nationalilty consist of Weight: 100-400 lbs, Height: 4'6"-7'2", and Nationalilty is restricted to real world locations. This is simply for consistency and a realistic simulation.
3. Allocate your skill points.
Skaters, click here
Goalies, click here (Click the Goalies Tab at the top)
On these charts, you will see the base attributes for each different species. On the far right of these charts, you will see "Customization Points". These are the number of points you can attribute to building your character. If you've ever customized a character on a video game, this is basically the exact same thing.
This is just a brief summary of your player. Here is an example of what it should look like when you send it
Stats to build:
Backcheck: -3
Fundamentals: +4
Shot Accuracy: +4
Checking: +3
Faceoffs: +5
Awareness: +3
Note 1: you can build on more than 4 stat categories. You can spread your Customization Points evenly across all categories, put them all on one category, or anything in between. Its fully up to you
Note 2: If you are considering dropping stats from the base stats to make room to add stats to another (for example, -5 to checking so you can add 5 extra to shot power), there is a LIMIT OF 5 POINTS YOU CAN DEDUCT from your specie's base stats!
4. Submit your player into the draft pool by hitting submit.
Thanks everyone, have fun, and don't hesitate to invite a friend!

I hated the non-player characters because they take my ice time away! *grins*
*hugs*
I'm gonna try to journal link this anyway, and see what happens.
It's a him. I had a position but i forgot it sorry
What the fuck is the point of having a shitload of imaginary players? All it does is marginalize the REAL people/players who joined the league to take part in it. Sure, rolling up murr purr imaginary players might be fun for the GM's, but it waters down the league and gets it away from what it's SUPPOSED to be (i.e. the sport of hockey, and a league where REAL players/people can join and take part).
IMO, if someone wants to write back stories and all that non-essential stuff, do it with the people on your team. Don't create imaginary players just to have story time.
Hockey, the actual sport, should be the focus and priority. If people want to do the fantasyland story time stuff they're welcomed to, but the league shouldn't be making rules and allowing even more imaginary players just so people can do creative writing. I think we've got plenty of teams, players, and storyline to write about. You keep adding that stuff and it gets to be a convoluted mess, and it takes away from the games and the real people who joined the league to participate.
Can't wait for the new season! ;o)
I'm one of the protected players on the Erie Tail Storm, so I won't be in the draft. But if you're in the draft, maybe we'll end up on the same team! ;o)
Also, unless I am blind, Raccoons are going to fall into the other species category, correct?
Thanks!
That's a lot of abbreviations and numbers and would take all day to explain each one, but as an example, see the "SHP" (Shot Power) column and the numbers below it?
The 1.5 in the Scoring row means raising your SHP will raise your scoring rating, which in turn means your player will score on a higher percentage of his shots.
The 1.5 in the Power Play row means raising your SHP will raise your power play rating, which in turn means your team will get more shots on their power plays, and also that your player is more likely to be the one to take more of those shots.
The 1.0 in the Offense row means that raising your SHP will raise your offense rating, which in turn means your player will generate more scoring opportunities.
In terms of awareness and fundamentals-
Awareness raises scoring, playmaking and penalty kill.
The higher your playmaking, the more assists your player will generate
The higher your penalty kill, the less shots your opponents will get on their power plays and the more likely you will be to generate shorthanded opportunities.
Fundamentals raises your defense, discipline, power play, and penalty kill
The higher your defense, the less scoring chances your opponents will generate
The higher your discipline, the less likely your player will be to take penalties
Hope this helps! If you have any questions shout me on my
