Like 2, you guys have just blown my mind. Seriously, pieces of my brain are landing in Pittsburgh as we speak.
For those of you who don't understand what the big fuss is... "businesses go under all the time, what makes this one so special?" I am going to do my best to explain this.

What is not mentioned is the incident that explains why Fernando now has a permanent scar above his eye.
You see, every year, Fernando has a promotion where he offers discounted prices to Anthrocon members showing their badge, one such year a patron raised a stink about not being offered the discount. Long story short, Fernando stood his ground and was was thanked with a brick to the face from this upset customer (customer was not part of the furry group).
When the furries heard this, they flooded his establishment with flowers and get well cards. The VERY next year, there was Fernando, same deal ready to go.
He has been a loyal supporter of Anthrocon, a great friend to the fandom and a truely wonderful guy. When others would point and squick, he welcomed us with open arms.
This man is a hero in my book. He took a step into uncharted waters and opened his establishment up to welcome this strange group with such such horrible rumors floating around, he was rewarded with a huge following and a true understanding about what the Furry Fandom is all about .
As noted in 2's Journal... anyone who donates $100 or more will be humbly invited to our private party at anthrocon. All you need to do is send your receipt to 2[at]ranting-gryphon.com and we will give you the details once we have a time and date. No deadlines here, so if you cant donate right away, no worries.
The last count has us over $9,000 with a goal of $10,000 but that last mile can sometimes be the hardest. I have seen people posting "I could only afford to send $5 or $10 I hope that helps!" and let me tell you, IT DOES! those add up QUICKLY as we have seen.
We are helping a friend who took a chance on us, we are showing the positive side of Furry, we are doing what we do best... looking out for one another. As I sit here, at work... I'm telling my co-worker just what the stange sub-culture called "furry" is all about, and showing them the twitter rally for Fernando's saying "if you think thats impressive, you should see what we do for charity"
I have never in my life been so proud to be a part of something so big, so caring, so amazing... From my heart, you all are my family in the truest sense.
For those who can only send $5-$10 dollars, check this out from a generous Agent Elrond http://www.furaffinity.net/journal/3377095
Now, I'm looking forward to some Lasagna Wraps (yes they are THAT good)
SEE YA AT ANTHROCON!
