Sorry if you don't know the guy, and feel that this is presumptuous, but if that's the case feel free to delete this journal and go about your business. :3 But if you are interested, check out this journal by  Toastrabbit. I won't repeat everything he says, as you can check it out for yourself, but the long and short of it is as follows.

There is a cafe owner near the Anthrocon convention building called Fernando. For years he has supported the furcon and those who attend it, so much so that a disgruntled non-fur customer threw a brick at him, leaving him with a permanent scar over one eye. The next year, he still ran his AC promotion and welcomed the furries back with open arms.

Due to the economic downturn, Fernandos is going out of business. Indeed he should have done several months ago, but tried to stay open till this years AC so he could say farewell to the furries. In doing so he got into debt, and recently was faced with having to close down early anyway, WITH those debts hanging over his head.

Dr Samuel Conway, chairman of anthrocon (Uncle Kage, if you'd rather his furry name. :D) started a fundraiser for him with the hope that they could raise the money needed to keep him open till AC, and clear his debts. Now, enough money has been raised to potentially keep him in business for two more years, maybe even permanently. With that being said though, every little extra helps!
