May Commissions Scheduling
Let's do this!
To summarize, my goal is to build up my portfolio and hopefully get some attention by doing smaller, con-style commissions (or equivalent work) every day of May.
What I'm offering: 8.5x11 commissions done in either colored pencil or grayscale copic markers. These commissions will involve one character (adding a second is an option, but costs extra) and maybe a prop or simple background. For examples, look over my favorites list. Most of those are con commissions I made for others at FWA. I'll also add more work from my stash to my gallery, but all of that stuff is on another computer at the moment.
Commission prices: $15 for marker drawing. $20 for colored pencil work. I raised the rate for the pencils because I tend to spend longer on them, plus I need to offset the shipping costs. Extra characters cost $5. I will not allow further upselling, because the whole point is to make these pieces small and quick. Finished pieces will be mailed to you first class. Also, since this is for promotion, giving me a mention, posting my work to your gallery and general word of mouth is greatly appreciated. You also agree to let me use a print of your work in my portfolio if I desire to do so.
On portfolio work: First of all, it's crazy to think I'd fill 31 commission slots when I don't think I even have 31 followers. That's fine, because if I shipped off all my work, I won't have anything left for the con portfolio! For days not scheduled for commission work, you can give me generic suggestions for me to play with. (Examples: "Irish setter male who flies model planes." "Raccoon female wearing ugly bridesmaid dress.") In some cases, I may request to hold onto a commission until after Anthrocon. (I'll compensate with a special bonus!)
How it works: If you're interested in a commission, please email me at chrispco@yahoo.com. Tell me what you want (marker or pencil, what type of character, the prop and setting and anything else) and provide a reference or detailed description. If I accept the commission (I do reserve the right to say no) I will create a small sketch for your approval. If you approve the sketch, you then pay via PayPal or check and I'll add you to the queue. I will not set a specific order to the queue, allowing me to choose my poison for the day, but I'll try to stick to a rough order.
What I'll draw: Before you jump in, review my artwork. I have a specific look and it works well for some things and not well for others. I'm pretty cartoony, but I can dial it down a tad if needed. Since I do a family-friendly comic, I don't want to go into any scary territory with my stuff. No porn. No fetish stuff. I won't take anything that makes me uncomfortable. Use common sense.
That's the basics. I'll edit if I realize I missed something, or something came up. Spread the word! Any questions?
