She enjoys portraying herself as a half-aware and dimwitted beast, drunken in the stupor of her own bodily composure.
The idea is that Chanda is talking to a crafty but malevolent female 'broken' ("broken angel," a not-so-very-distinct species in my stories). The angel tries to flatter Chanda, only to show herself malevolent in later time. Conclusive death threats ftw.
This is, of course, unfinished.
Enjoy. =3
~ Along the progression of a fateful conversation ~
Malevolent Angel: You yourself are blessed to be endowed with such strength. There are many who envy you. And others...who worship you. Is it not rapturous to you? That many would forsake all just to come to you with wish and will?
Chanda: ...
Malevolent Angel: Why not join us? Would it please our lady to partake of the ranks of mortal man only to show him Heaven's judgement?
Chanda: Judgement?
Malevolent Angel: Yes. But perhaps before this...Heaven's love?
Chanda: What does a lost devil know of love?
Malevolent Angel: Such insult! I will have you know that I am not without benevolence! However, in considering those who scurry beneath us...
Chanda: Beneath?
Malevolent Angel: They are so small, my lady. The children amongst them...are often found lost within their own society, having left a mother behind to go and explore the world they see before them. You are a mother yourself, and know this. But can you blame them?
Chanda: ...
Malevolent Angel: Is it not proper to allow a youth to learn about that which greets him every day? And Heaven forbid the poor things should grow in ignorance, lest one day they happen to stumble upon...The Mother's children...
Chanda: *she took a step back, readying her claws*
Malevolent Angel: But is it fair of you to condemn us all as being hideous malefactors driven to madness and anger? How soon you forget.
Chanda: A child has nothing to gain from a monster...
Malevolent Angel: Hypocrisy! And in it, complete disdain for the common blood we all share! For shame...
Chanda: The beings which you obsess over have nothing in common with your...
Malevolent Angel: Hmm? What's this? Trailing off on our own, are we?
Chanda: Save your lies for one less tactful, and all the more one less suited to carve them out of the lungs from whence they come.
Malevolent Angel: Have you ever taken a moment to look into the eyes of another?
Chanda: What is this trite?
Malevolent Angel: You would believe that Heaven is but a threat to you outside a city's walls and a paling's defenses. Nay, you think it to be nothing but a threat.
Chanda: When there is no reason to see otherwise, you and your kind are met with armaments proper...
Malevolent Angel: You're not a very good mother, are you?
Chanda: What?!
Malevolent Angel: What does your son know of the world? What knowledge does he aspire to obtain?
Chanda: ...
Malevolent Angel: Is he intuitive? Are the books his friends? Or is he but a hound that answers a summons with unswerving reverence?
Chanda: ...
Malevolent Angel: It does not take long for an angel to scry the minds of mortals. You've no foothold to stand on in harboring secrets from me, Chanda...
Chanda: !
Malevolent Angel: You owe it to your son to teach him what one must know in order to survive. I see you do this, yes. But you think very little of his usefulness...
Chanda: Pry any deeper into me, and I assure you that you will be without EYES to SEE into another's soul...
Malevolent Angel: Such violence! Can two women not discuss a matter of parenting without such...vehement behavior?!
Chanda: ...
Malevolent Angel: How does the poor thing fare?
Chanda: ...
Malevolent Angel: Does he have friends? Aquaintances, hm? Anyone to share his inmost thoughts with?
Chanda: What are you after?
Malevolent Angel: For one so tiny...to be in the care of one so...towering. Do you speak to him often? Are you...close?
Chanda: *she growls*
Malevolent Angel: Terror and fear, fright and horror. How does he see you? In what way does he acknowledge you as his guardian?
Chanda: Wither.
Malevolent Angel: He is but human, you know.
Chanda: !
Malevolent Angel: Or nephil, if you prefer. Striding upon two legs, his head held high so as not to draw unwanted attention from passersby - such a ridiculous society, don't you agree?
Chanda: The ways of man are none of his concern.
Malevolent Angel: You are ahead of yourself.
Chanda: Oh?
Malevolent Angel: To suppose that a mere nephil should live like a warrior is absurd. Do you ever consider this, when you bring him his feed? Or are you as callous as to toss the child a clump of mauled flesh, expecting him to bend low just to consume it?
Chanda: What is this nonsense?
Malevolent Angel: Whether in stature or in status, your son Nigel is but another human, forced into subjugation by way of no more than the eyes of his peers. Man and his continual covetous lust, tearing down all that he himself has wrought. That you even suffer the indignance of the very PRESENCE of these fools is beyond comprehension. That is, the comprehension of another mortal...
Chanda: CEASE THIS TRICKERY AT ONCE, or I will TEAR you!!!
Malevolent Angel: (sigh)... That we share the same goal is not even enough for you. Such a confused one you are...
Chanda: To rip through and gore each and every last one of you is a task all too satisfying in my search for the truth. One wretched abomination shall not deter my blade from meeting all others LIKE it. You've chosen to converse with a lioness all too aware of your inherent fallacies. And to confide in her is as sure an acceptance of death's embrace as any! Spew no more. Anything else coming from that mouth of yours should be a vomiting of your own intestines! Make yourself scarce, or be torn asunder...
From there, it a matter of settling for a lesser of two evils, or doing something else that will have a much longer lasting effect... </3
There's first person shooters EVERYWHERE these days. I just haven't played any of them.
