Welcome!
NEW ACCOUNT -
Kraest So, my guitar, the Centaura CT21 (has a humbucker neck pickup instead of the one shown), has a Floyd Rose bridge, which LOOKS LIKE IT WILL DEVOUR YOUR SOUL. Take note of something in that image. You see those six blocks in the centre? You see those tiny blocks inside those blocks? If you're a musician, you already know what I'm talking about and the purpose they serve, so feel free to skip ahead.
If, however, you're not a musician, I'll explain to you that those blocks inside those blocks are important to the bridge working properly. Sure, the tremolo bar works well enough, but the strings can get very out of tune without those blocks inside those blocks.
Musicians, tune back in!
When I first got the guitar, I had no idea why the bridge was so spectacularly evil looking, all I knew was that it was spectacularly evil looking. That being the case, I didn't know how to properly change the strings on a bridge that looked like that, considering I was only 13 and hadn't considered looking online for instructions. So, I took it back to the guitar shop and asked them to change the strings for me.
This is where those blocks inside the blocks become the main characters of this story.
Well, the guy running the shop had an apprentice. This apprentice also had no idea what a Floyd Rose bridge needed when it came to restringing.
He took out the blocks.
And left them out.
And returned the guitar to me without them.
I didn't notice this until a year later when I moved to Florida, 1,300 miles away from that store.
So, I purchased those block replacements today, ten years after they were removed and probably thrown out by a guy who new as much about guitars as a 13 year old, but still worked in a guitar store.

I mean
c'mon, man... at least ASK someone who knows
Anywhere else, though, yeah, they were pretty expensive. O.o
It sucks that a lot of people who work at guitar stores know little-to-nothing about how to properly set up guitars.
