Got Robbed Today - plus eye surgery - Going to Slow Me Down

This is a coyote... I'm making a note here HUGE SUCCESS.
Not much to say other than I got robbed today.
Short story was
I was riding the light rail back home and basically 3 people came up one grabbed my phone even though I had two hands around it and started to hit me. I decided it wasn't worth it and let go. I did a stupid thing and started to do chase. In retrospec that was stupid. I realize one of the people were egging on they were trying to separate from the area. Once I realize that I froze and did contact the police immediately.
Again that was not exactly smart.
But I have to say at least it was just the phone. Heck the earphones are still here.
Just bummed will figure out if I can afford a phone and such.
Oh yeah something I have keeping quiet I been having some pains from contact - even new ones are not fitting confortably and I get migraines if I wear glasses for more than an hour something I had since childhood. I am currently getting PRK surgery so I am recovering from that also - which makes telling people what happen even better ;)
So in all due respects I'm going to be a little slower than I plan.
I hope people understand and I will be posting more photos soon.

They have "your stuff" and keep your local information close at hand.
It's easy to get defensive.
But yeah I will I'm probably going to drive more for a bit until I feel safer. Probably will take me a few months.
THe good thing its all on camera.
While I hate being a modern surveillance society I can understand why there been a big push to put cameras everywhere. I really hope that helps them catch who it is.
But it's right next to the computer so like part of the toilet was leaning against an amiga tower.....

Yup, talk about "Not Smart," it was such an unusual gun (limited production Eastern Block knock-off of a German Luger) that I'm fairly certain that I was about to demand he prove it was a real gun when his buddy stepped out of the shadows holding a more normal appearing one that I couldn't get a good look at!
Lost my phone and about $60 :\
Losing phone and $60 is bad enough an event that makes you question your believes what you are doing is worse.
Again sorry to hear yours was worse IMHO.
The only thing that really bothered me was losing the phone; it's pretty much become my brain, my "anti-drug" and whatever else. Luckily, I had been due for an upgrade since February, but I was wanting to wait for the iPhone 5 to come out. Other than that, I had it passcode protected and I'm sure they smashed it before they even left the building anyway.
I dunno, getting robbed is getting robbed, no matter what is lost or how it happens. The hardest thing to get over is the randomness of it; here you were, just enjoying your day as you normally do, and suddenly your life is in very real and immediate danger for no good reason.
Then again my upgrade is July for 2 years.... Was trying to hold out until iPhone 5.
I'm going to take my time and decide what I want to do with phones and life patterns. Most likely I will stop taking the rail for a while until I feel more safe in general.
BUt hey i might just need a windows phone that might make something they don't want :)

Well a lens but that lens still cost money :)
More or less life will go on. I just have to decide how.
They also use the contact information in the phone to find addresses and such to rob in the future.

Congrats on the PRK. Hopefully you'll never need corrective lenses again!

I really enjoy your photos, so hope you're up and about again soon, but totally understand the need for a break. :3
Phones are replaceable so I'm not going to cry too much.
Because of surgery I got a large number of picnic pictures done they are on auto pilot for a bit until I feel up. i think I have 600+ dhole puppy pictures I should go through :)

So, question one - seriously - you didn't think to tell me that you'd been robbed? Didn't you wonder why I was asking why you were buying a new phone?
I don't real FA everyday, yanno.
Point two - I can give you either the iPhone 3G or the HTC Surround WP phone - if I send it tomorrow, you'll have it by midweek. If you'd rather get a new phone, then you can use it until you can afford one you actually want and you can give it back to me at Gaylaxicon.

point 2 is a point 2 I don't like taking something or borrow someone else stuff since if it gets broken I would get sad.
And you know anything I have you need is yours. If it gets broken, it gets broken. It's just a thing.
Better than it just sitting around doing nothing.
