I bought a book called Three Trees Make A Forest a few months back and discovered this guy's work - he uses lots of minimal and flat planes of color and texture, but the results are always amazing.
I don't know why I get so excited over his stuff even though it's so different from my own style :X but I just can't stop looking through his illustrations. His use of lighting, color and proximity/composition is just great. There's a real sense of life and atmosphere and his work makes you want to travel around the world or something.
Anyways, enough babbling: here's the links ->

http://www.dahlia7x.com/zboard/zboa......php?id=uesugi (korean? board with some older work)
important note: I couldn't figure out how the hell to navigate his site at first until I read some online article later on talking about it. Apparently you just click on "illustration" at the little navigation bar at the bottom of the page (duh, it seems so obvious but at first I thought it was just some link to another ad with poor english)

I like the little animation of the walking woman too :]
His stuff seems pretty vintage...?
looking through his galleries, most of his work seems to be skinny women in cute/casual clothes relaxing/shopping/going somewhere; i still find that the environments are great though.
I also saw a painting with people exactly like his at my grandmother's.
I do like the colors he uses though. It does contribute to the atmosphere a lot. His art just seems sort of unimpressive to me :x
I especially like http://www10.big.or.jp/~tuesugi/ill.....12/futamia.jpg <3
also his use of colour is clever, lots of use of complimentary opposites. <3
I need to look to it for inspiration more often.
