Actually, it sounds like it's just an issue with RAM. All you have to do is open up the computer, take out the RAM and put it back in securely. This fixes it usually. If you need help, I can help in this. Also, it's much cheaper to replace RAM than the entire computer, so even if this doesn't work, it may just need a replacement of RAM.

doesn't have to be, but it's mostly so, yes. Problem though, if the comuter is a solid one (bought in one piece at a shop) then it's hard to get to the RAMs.

Just be careful with your fingers. Try not to scratch anything and make sure the power supply is off. And don't worry, the small little clips, holding the RAMs in place, supposed to have a lot of resistance (force). When putting the RAMs back in, check if you put them the right way in. There is a little gap along the RAM that isn't exactly in the middle.

Blue screen mostly ocures when windows tries to access something but finds something "odd" along the way and then shuts itself completely down. The long code usually tells you what the problem is.

Also check for heat issues. If the CPU fan isn't working this can freak the system out. (Less likely but still something to look at)

And unless it's a mac, the ram is fairly inexpensive.
