NJ Fur-B-Q - FOREVER CANCELED.
Some of you may already have heard the Fur-B-Q will be forever canceled due to 2 certain people with a certain type of fursuit, it's true.
As by posted by

Yes folks... everything you have been hearing is true. The event will no longer happen.
Here are the items we can release regarding the decision:
- Yes, there is graphic photographic evidence of "inappropriate fursuit extra-curriculars" taking place on a vehicle, in front of the building in broad daylight during the BBQ. There were kids and a town council member who witnessed this. The pictures were filed at a PUBLIC town council meeting and are now being investigated by the Mayor, Chief of Police, and the squad.
- NO we cannot and will not move the event somewhere else. NJ FurBQ is NO MORE. So please don't ask anymore.
- YES there may be some legal repercussions that may happen to the 2 parties involved.
- For those of you who think that this is "no big deal"... think about this for a second: 1) Furry as a whole is now publicly in the limelight due to this event. I can assure you that this area will be pretty much devoid of furry events...simply because no one will house our events anymore. The EMS and Fire community is small enough that word of this has spread like wildfire in the neighboring communities. 2) Tony is a Lieutenant and Trustee at the Squad... it's possible he may lose his job because of these two idiots... 3) Shortwave, myself, and Aeon also have jobs that could be affected by this as well.
- The Twin "W" Rescue squad was punished because of the actions of these two individuals... because they were the host venue and they bear the town's name. Not only were they the subject of humiliation at a public town meeting but $55,000 was stripped from their annual budget and they are no longer recieving the "go ahead" to order 2 new ambulances...which the squad was pressing for in order to remain in service.
So furries... you've done it again (at least 2 of you). Only this time you took our charity and instead of being the heroes and donating $600 so they could buy new equipment ...we've cost them almost $280,000 (2 ambulances + 55,000). You may have possibly cost up to 5 people their jobs, you've smeared the reputation of furry further into the mud, and pretty much pissed off AT MINIMUM 263 people who rightfully enjoy the FurBQ every year....just so you can blow a load on a car hood. Absolutely disgraceful....and I really hope the town prosecutes the shit out of you for whatever they can.
That is all I am saying about this.... be on the lookout for posts from Shrotwave and Tony as well.... only I don't think theirs will be as "nice".
Thanks a lot... you 2 should be ashamed and I really hope I don't ever find out who it is.
I personally, am disgusted.
I have nothing to say.
Everyone's entitled to one, but if you didn't scroll through the thread, I see absolutely no one "embracing" it.
Especially from the 300 annual attendees.
It does however piss me off that it happened in my state.
It's bloody bollocks if you ask me.
Will this be in the Star Ledger?

I wear a collar 24/7, nobody said anything but glared at me funny.
I was so looking forward to going to my first BBQ out there since I haven't been home in such a long time.
It is because of those two furs that all of the NJ, and even some outside, furs have to suffer. Thanks a lot.
As a sister to a firefighter and having an EMT as a good friend in the knitting group, this is just a horrific thing to have occurred. I feel sorry for the five and the emts.
Now that I said that. That is just wrong in so many ways.

Now this fandom is gonna be blacklisted by people now.

So, according to that because an ambulance company hosted an event...... they're going to lose ambulances and funding? Isn't that just going to dick over their own community? Did the ambulance company understand the FULL SCOPE of furry, or were they only enlightened to the "But we just wanna be friends and hang out as our characters" side of the fandom? I mean, I'm sorry but this community is 95% sexual. Just look at the content of this and other furry websites. It would be foolish for a host to not at least dance around the part where "Some people into this community have a high sexual interest but most are friendly and want to be their characters and we will not permit the sexual behavior here."
And also firing 5 people because of the actions of two of dozens (not sure how many attended) of people who attended a party that was on their facility grounds? That doesn't seem legal. I mean, if someone fucks in the lobby of the marriot at a con... will the front desk attendant, the housekeeper, and the bellhop be fired? Seriously, I don't get it. They can't fire someone because of a crime they didn't commit. They can't fire someone for going to the same party that the sexual act happened at. Sorry bro, doesn't seem like it's possible. Those 5 people didn't know it was going to happen, and they arranged this BBQ how many years WITHOUT this happening? If they get fired I hope they sue the SHIT out of the community/local government for *gasp* fursecution. (actually for descrimination. Pretty sure ALL government jobs have to be Equal Opportunity. They can't fire you because they don't like your hobby.
I know what happened sucked. I can't wait for the delicious date that their names are released. God forbid the picture is. Fucking in public in front of a kid? Oh yeah, they're going to get roasted.
I think that there's some appealing to be done here though. The state can't with-hold funds to an EMS company over shit like this. They also can't fire people who DIDN'T DO THE FUCKING over the PEOPLE WHO DID THE FUCKING. Seems like this should be taken to court by the EMS company, pronto.
I personally live on the other side of the state, way south from there, I have no idea how their township works, but perhaps mentioning it to razor_wulff would be good, since it is a valid argument.
I'm wondering if this is an EMT operation, not an EMS operation. My Fiance is a Paramedic so I know a bit more about how they operate. EMS tends to be run through the county, city, or state, whereas EMTs are privately owned operations that work with medical transportation (getting people to and from Dialysis, doctors appointments, etc)
If it's an EMT operation, I can see them trying to appeal to the city for good ambulances because, well, from what I've seen of EMT companies many ambulances don't meet DHEC regulations (a common violation is they don't have working AC) SO... sometimes the city/state/whatever might actually agree to assist EMT operations when it helps the greater good of the community. Sometimes EMT companies ARE first responders too, so it does benefit the community, not just the bed ridden seniors.
So, if this isn't a county/state/city funded operation, I can see them willfully pulling funds volunteered to this operation. However, in order to donate the funds and ambulances I'm sure some form of a contract was drawn up, or at least a letter letting them know that they intended on doing this. If agreed upon by both parties it may constitute a contract unless a clause -anywhere- in -any- of the paperwork stated that "they could revoke this at any time" or something similar.
Since I see "annual budget" I would assume the county funds this station in some manner. But an annual budget of 50,000 USD? That seems very, VERY low seeing as the people who work there (drivers and medics) would likely make more than that in a year combined. There has to be some funds not discussed or private funding with help from the town.
My friend also thinks that the people who own the EMT company may indeed be the hosts of the BBQ. If that's the case, then this makes a bit more sense to me as the owners of the location are also the people who host the event.
It makes sense why in that case they would have some form of disdain for them as this isn't just their location, it's their EVENT too.
I still thing the EOE thing stands and if they're fired they could sue the shit out of the town. Especially if they AREN'T the hosts of the group (see, I'm not sure of all of this now. I don't know who is who so I'm sort of going on what I can gather) You can't fire someone for being gay. You can't fire someone for being gay and going to an event where a couple guys exposed themselves.
ALSOOOOOOOOOOOOO: I hope the happy fursuit-fuckers enjoy their new position on the sex offender list. Indecent exposure, public sex acts, AND in front of a minor? God forbid one of them be under 17 years old. They will have to file as sex offenders if the charges are pressed (and I'm sure they will be as it was a town official who is more than jimmy-rustled about it) so, I'd love to go to that WatchDog website and look for the rap sheet on them, haha! One moment of passion = Sex Offender Registry for life!
